Trump’s ‘America First’ Agenda Finds Major Support in New Poll

Other results within the polling spell trouble for surging 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders as well.

Published

on

Despite the near-constant barrage of attacks being launched against him, President Donald Trump’s main ethos still seems to be resonating among Americans.

America First.  Those are the two words that would best describe the Trump presidency’s creed.  The New York City Real Estate mogul embodied the American dream while manifesting his fortune in the rough and tumble world of high end properties.

Trump could not have made it this far without America being what America is, and he knows it.  His time in the White House is, in some ways, this thank you to the nation that allowed him the successes that he’s had.  That’s because what’s good for the nation is good for all the people of the nation as well.  If that means being a little selfish, the President sees no problem with it.

Neither do We The People, according to a new poll.

Trending: POTUS Prepares to Take LITERAL Victory Lap at Daytona 500 After Impeachment Acquittal

A poll by Selzer and Company/Grinnell College finds that the vast majority of American adults say they are America First voters, while less than 20 percent identify as socialists.

Overall, about seven-in-ten — or 70 percent — of likely voters say they are believers in America First — the nationalist-populist doctrine that guides President Trump’s agenda on immigration, trade, healthcare, and foreign policy, among others.

The poll had some other surprising results as well.

Only 19% seem to find themselves identifying as a socialist seems to stand out, particularly as the Democrats continue the hunt for a 2020 nominee.

With Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders making a sudden surge in polling, the liberals will need to ask themselves if they can risk running a candidate whose entire ethos flies in the face of the incumbent President’s?

Bank Finally Bucks Leftists, Decides to Continue Funding School Choice Program

A Florida bank has finally decided to ignore the radical left and continue to fund a local school scholarship program.

Published

on

A Florida bank has finally decided to ignore the radical left and continue to fund a local school scholarship program and risking the displeasure of the gay lobby.

Fifth Third Bank decided not to end its participation in the program, according to the Daily Signal. Indeed, the bank has decided to continue supplying the $5.4 million it had previously agreed to give to the program.

Thanks to the bank’s change of heart, the scholarship program will continue.

But advocates for the program were worried for a while. For a short time, the bank had been leaning toward allowing the radical LGBTQ lobby to bully them into quitting the school program.

So, why was the bank leaning toward ending its participation in the program?

Because some parents were using the scholarship funds to send their kids to religious schools. And the radical gay lobby couldn’t have that.

Naturally, hateful liberal Florida politicians have now launched into a campaign of harassment against the bank. As the Signal noted:

Democratic state Reps. Anna Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith apparently object to that and have been harassing corporate donors to drop their contributions over those schools’ biblical views on marriage and sexuality.

Local parents, pastors, and politicians were furious—including a good number of their Democratic colleagues. Members like state Reps. James Bush III and Al Jacquet couldn’t believe their party would actually use children as pawns to appease the LGBT Left.

But so far, the bank is not bending. It has made its decision to stay with the program.

After all, the program gets results. More Florida kids are now graduating high school and going on to good colleges. In the end, Fifth Third Bank could not argue with real-life results.

Virginia: Suitcase With Dead Birds From China Intercepted At Airport

Published

on

Airport authorities at Dulles International Airport in Sterling, Virginia, discovered a suitcase containing dead birds from China.

According to WTHR-TV, the suitcase contained dozens of dead birds of an unknown variety ranging in size from 2.5 to 3.5 inches in length.

The suitcase belonged to a passenger from Beijing. Authorities say that the traveler’s ultimate destination was a residence in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Who the heck is feeding their cats dead birds‽ This is enough of an idiotic move that the Feds should have the birds tested for pathogens and investigate this moron.

TDW:

No matter what the reason, we should all be able to agree that sending a suitcase full of dead birds – from anywhere, to anywhere – is not right.

The ordeal is made more disturbing by the fact that the suitcase was sent from China, which is currently dealing with the coronavirus and has struggled in the past with a bird flu epidemic. WTHR reported Monday that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents intercepted a package at Dulles International Airport in Virginia that was filled with small dead birds.

“According to officials, the traveler arrived on a flight from Beijing, China on Jan. 27, 2020 where the traveler’s final destination was to a residence in Prince George’s County, Maryland,” the outlet reported. “During a baggage examination, CBP specialists discovered a package with pictures of a cat and dog that the passenger said was ‘cat food.’ The package, according to officials, contained a bunch of unknown small birds, about 2.5 to 3.5 inches in length.”

CBP provided disturbing images of the pet-food packaging that does, in fact, contain dead birds. More

What this article doesn’t say is whether the birds were tested for any diseases, and what those results may have been. At what point do we consider China may be intentionally trying to infect us?

Why isn’t this on the MSM news in America?

After Seeking to End Second Amendment, Virginia Democrats Now Want Driver’s Licenses for Illegals

After working to end our constitutional rights, Virginia Democrats are now working to on giving driver’s licenses to 300,000 illegal aliens.

Published

on

Putting an end to the Second Amendment is not all Virginia Democrats are working to achieve as they next set their sights on giving driver’s licenses to 300,000 illegal aliens in the Commonwealth.

The Democrats in Virginia are now looking to “ease fear” among illegals, even as they hope to drive up the fear of the average citizen of their state.

Virginia Democrat Scott Surovell praised the bill to give lawbreaking illegals a legal driver’s license. “There’s 17 other states who have done it and the other states have removed the legal presence requirement, the number of collisions have gone down,” he exclaimed.

Fox 5 reported the large population of illegal immigrants that could be issued licenses:

Senator Surovell says it would impact between 160,000 and 300,000 undocumented immigrants without driver’s licenses in the Commonwealth; immigrants in Virginia illegally but working, going to doctor’s appointments and more. Many who if stopped in a routine traffic stop could face being detained or deported.

Surovell says granting driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants could generate between ten million and seventeen million dollars a year.

If passed, Virginia would join the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington in giving criminal illegals a driver’s license.

Such a law has already brought consequences down upon the State of New York. Last week the Empire State announced the plan to sue the Trump administration over the state’s exclusion from the trusted traveler programs.

Per NPR:

On Friday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York Civil Liberties Union announced their intention to file lawsuits against the Department of Homeland Security. DHS said this week that it will no longer allow New York state residents to sign up for popular programs intended to speed up international travel because of a state law that blocks immigration authorities from accessing motor vehicle records.

The Trump administration noted that the driver’s license law puts New York at risk.

“Here we have a state that was one of the targets on [Sept. 11] walking backwards to bar the sharing of law enforcement relevant information,” DHS secretary Ken Cuccinelli said Thursday on a call with reporters, “and crucially, criminal records, which are kept up to date in DMV databases.”

Barnes & Noble Bookseller Pulls New Editions of Classic Novels After Blacks Scream ‘Racism’

Barnes & Noble Bookseller has been accused of racism and “literary blackface” over the new editions of classic novels.

Published

on

Barnes & Noble Bookseller has been accused of racism and “literary blackface” over the new editions of classic novels it had planned to stock for Black History Month.

The bookseller had planned to stock shelves with new editions of classic novels such as “Romeo and Juliet,” “Moby Dick,” “Peter Pan,” and others but instead of traditional dust jacket designs, these books were to have featured images of blacks in the roles made famous in the books.

However, the company canceled the entire campaign after blacks on Twitter began calling the new dust jacket designs “racist.”

Minor author LL McKinney, or instance, jumped to Twitter to scream about racism. “Another version of literary blackface,” the little-known, black writer said.

McKinney wasn’t alone. Literally hundreds of blacks picked up on the controversy and added their angry voices.

Per the New York Post:

“So, they’re not retellings by poc and their #OwnVoices? They’re just new covers?” Twitter user @MercedesSiler said. “So instead of paying poc to write new fresh stories, they’re hornswoggling people into paying for the same old stories with covers that are heavily stereotyped & have nothing to do with the content?”

“We spent centuries without autonomy over our own bodies. I could so see an amazing deeply horrific Frankenstein adaptation taking place in the mid-19th century in the American south,” writer @KendraJames_ tweeted. “But this? This ain’t it.”

It wasn’t long until Barns & Noble apologized for trying to dress up “white people” books with black faces on the covers.

“We acknowledge the voices who have expressed concern,” Barnes and Noble said in a tweeted statement. “The covers are not a substitute for black voices or writers of color, whose work and voiced deserve to be heard.”

The covers B&N had planned included “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Count of Monte Cristo,” “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” “Emma,” “Frankenstein,” “Moby Dick,” Peter Pan,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Secret Garden,” “Three Musketeers,” “Treasure Island,” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Barnes & Noble canceled the books and canceled an event that was to launch the release of the books.

New York City Comedy Act Trolls Iowa Caucuses, Propose to Elizabeth Warren

Published

on

Politics, particularly in the United States of America, is an ostensibly silly thing.

Given that the entire endeavor should be simple, (get elected, do what your constituents want, go home), there should be no real reason for the political infighting that we see.  Like, ever.  But instead of using our differences to unite us in one shared experience, corporations trying to separate you from your money have worked to divide the nation for financial gain, because being on Team A or Team B makes it easier to classify and target you.

That was a long way to go to say, every now and then, a little levity can go a long way when it comes to the turbulent world of the Washington.

This week, Democrats vying for their party’s 2020 nomination were treated to a healthy dose of comedy in Iowa.

The first inclination that something was in the air came from an event with former Vice President Joe Biden.

The prankster was part of a comedy troupe out of New York City called “The Good Liars”.  Warren became quite intimate with their work later in the day as well.

“The Good Liars,” also showed up at an Elizabeth Warren rally, where one of the rascals, appearing to be Selvig, got on stage and bent to a knee before asking Warren, “Will you be my candidate for president?”

Warren laughed before responding, “Yes, I will be your candidate for president,” then hugging him and shaking his hand.

Warren then gave one of the comedians a moment to speak, and it did not go as she had planned:

The Iowa Caucuses will conclude this week, giving Americans a better look at the true states of the Democratic race for the White House.

Sources Say China Lying About Extent of Coronavirus, 5 Times More People Infected

Evidence is growing that China is lying about the extent of the Coronavirus outbreak inside its vast nation.

Published

on

Evidence is growing that China is lying about the extent of the Coronavirus outbreak inside its vast nation, even as the virus spreads across the world.

Last last month, the Chinese state media claimed that only about 300 people had been infected by the virus named named 2019-nCoV. But others thought it was at least five times more than that.

“It is likely that the Wuhan outbreak of a novel coronavirus has caused substantially more cases of moderate or severe respiratory illness than currently reported,” the Imperial College London’s MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis said in a report.

The biggest fear is the fact that Wuhan is home to a major international airport for China. More than 3,300 passengers from all over the world course through the airport every day. That, they say, is how this virus spread so quickly.

On Thursday, U.S. Senator Tom Cotton scolded China for its failure to be forthcoming over the extent of the virus.

“There was a 28% increase in coronavirus cases overnight in China,” the Arkansas Republican wrote in a Twitter post. “Make no mistake, though: these aren’t ‘new’ cases. Just what China is willing to admit. It’s much worse.”

By the end of January, over 7,700 cases of the virus were confirmed worldwide. Cases have been recorded in China and more than 18 other counties.

But Cotton insisted that China was not telling the world the full truth.

“As of [Tuesday] morning, China has reported that the Wuhan coronavirus has infected more than 4,500 people and killed more than 100,” Cotton wrote Wednesday in the letter. “But the real number is likely far higher — perhaps in the hundreds of thousands — given the Chinese Communist Party’s long history of covering up and minimizing these crises.”

The World Health Organization declared the viral outbreak a world health emergency.

As Reuters reported:

The latest Hubei figures take the total death toll for China to at least 212. China’s National Health Commission is expected to release new national figures later on Friday.

There have been a further 1,220 cases detected in Hubei by end of Jan. 30, taking the total for the province alone to close to 6,000, Hubei’s health commission said.

Nearly 100 cases have emerged in other countries, spurring cuts to travel, outbreaks of anti-China sentiment in some places, and a surge in demand for protective face masks.

Proposed Missouri Law would Ban ‘Sexually Inappropriate’ Books from Libraries

A new law proposed in Missouri seeks to ban books from libraries that are “sexually inappropriate” for kids.

Published

on

A new law proposed in Missouri seeks to ban books from libraries that are “sexually inappropriate” for kids but would also recommend jail for librarians that break the new rules.

This month, Missouri House Rep. Ben Baker (R, Neosho) introduced the “Parental Oversight of Public Libraries Act,” a bill that calls for the creation of a new board of community members — that would not including local library workers — to remove books that contain “age-inappropriate sexual material.”

The bill maintains that libraries that refuse to comply with this new board’s recommendations will lose their government funding. The bill also adds misdemeanor penalties to library workers that stock the books despite the ban. Workers could be hit was a $500 or even a year in jail.

But, as ABC News reported, some library groups are shocked by the bill:

Cynthia Dudenhoffer, the president of the Missouri Library Association, said she was shocked when she first heard about the bill and said it was unnecessary. Each of the state’s library systems, which account for a total of 365 branches, already have their own protocols in place to determine which materials are allowed for their younger members.

“Librarians take that stuff very seriously,” she said to ABC News. “It’s not like we buy things willy-nilly.”

Rep. Baker said that he introduced the bill in response to the “Drag Queen Story Hour” events that are popping up in libraries across the country.

“I wanted to send a strong message that we need to protect our kids and we need to do something about this, but that’s all negotiable,” Baker told the Springfield News-Leader.

Dudenhoffer, who opposes the bill, points out that drag queens are not mentioned in the bill and that librarians are already trained to “represent the needs of the community” as they choose what books and publications to stock.

The activist added that libraries are very cognizant of the needs of the community.

“We work on it person by person, case by case,” Dudenhoffer said. “We do go out of our way to make sure that the library is serving the community that [materials are] placed in the right section.”

But Baker said that he wants the community to have a more direct voice in what local libraries do.

“I’m trying to figure out a way for parents to have recourse if something’s happened and actually the library board is saying ‘Hey, we’re OK with this’ or even promoting it, which has happened,” Baker said.
