Trump Police Executive Order Seeks To Ban Chokeholds By Police, Increase Training Funding

President Trump signed an executive order today on police reform amid a broad national debate sparked by the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

“What is needed now is not more stoking of fear and division. We need to bring law enforcement and communities closer together, not to drive them apart,” President Trump said during a Rose Garden event.

TDC:

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday calling for a ban on chokeholds by police and an increase in funding for training programs at police departments across the country.

The order offers federal funding grants to police departments that seek independent credentialing certifying they have met standards on new use-of-force and de-escalation training, according to White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere. The order also calls for increased funding to police to assist them in handling mental health and homeless crises. More

The three components of President Trump’s executive order are:

  1. Creating credentialing and certification programs in every police department across the nation
  2. Information sharing — create a national database that can track officers with excessive use of force complaints so they can’t skip from department to department
  3. Incentivize co-responder programs — have mental health experts accompany officers on responses to non-violent calls involving homelessness, addiction, and other mental health issues

The Left’s Latest Attack on Donald Trump’s Tax Returns Is Total Fake News

The left is at it again, trying to make it look like Trump is doing something baaaad with his tax returns. Only the whole story is fake news.

Published

on

The New York Times is at it again, trying to make it look like Trump is doing something baaaad with his tax returns. Only the whole story is fake news.

Firstly, Ryan Ellis of The Federalist did an excellent job explaining how fraudulent the left’s latest attack on Trump’s taxes really is.

Turning to the particulars of the tax return, there simply isn’t much here. There’s certainly no smoking gun, nothing that on its face is illegal in some way. The portrait that emerges is one of a very aggressive, wheeler-dealer businessman with a thousand fingers in a thousand pies. Trump allocates money in a wide array of business ventures, generating tax deductions that offset income from these and other enterprises.

Trump himself in the piece describes his approach as “truthful hyperbole,” which is one of those wonderful phrases like “trust but verify,” “non-denial denial,” and “unknown unknowns.” In this case, the phrase tells me, as someone who has had all sorts of tax clients over the years, that the president loves the game. He is always looking for his next business venture and wants to plow all his profits from other lines of work into the next chapter of his life.

Not surprisingly, a business empire run this way robs a lot of profitable Peters to pay a lot of unprofitable Pauls. The New York Times article throws around terms that sound tricky or scary to normal people, but to tax professionals are part of any business tax return — depreciation, amortization, business bad debt, net operating losses, passive losses, historic rehabilitation credits, consulting fees, and the like. The bottom line is that the Trump business empire is basically a closed circuit — profits from business A are used to prop up business B and acquire business C. That creates a lot of deductions that offset the profit, which in turn means that in some years, very little tax is owed.

None of that makes Trump a tax cheat, Ellis points out.

Ellis has far more that you should go read.

But Twitter user alexthechick also did great work revealing just what a lie the left is trying to push on this Trump taxes story.

In a series of several tweets, Alexandria Brown made some salient points:

And there you have it. Trump paid millions in taxes when he was supposed to pay millions in taxes.

Watch Trump Expose Democrats Plan To Destroy America At His Speech On American History

President Trump announced yesterday that he was creating the “1776 Commission” to promote patriotism in U.S. education as part of the administration’s efforts to combat the far Left’s agenda of trying to re-write American history.

“Our mission is to defend the legacy of America’s founding, the virtue of America’s heroes, and the nobility of the American character,” Trump said at the White House Conference on American History, hosted at the National Archives Museum. “We must clear away the twisted web of lies in our schools and classrooms, and teach our children the magnificent truth about our country. We want our sons and daughters to know that they are the citizens of the most exceptional nation in the history of the world.”

NY Post:

President Trump on Thursday announced a federal “1776 Commission” to promote “patriotic education” and accused Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and the New York Times of warping history.

Trump said Democrats and the Times’ “1619 Project” promote an inaccurate version of US history by over-emphasizing race and the legacy of slavery.

“I will soon sign an executive order establishing a national commission to promote patriotic education. It will be called the ‘1776 Commission’,” Trump said in 17-minute speech at the National Archives marking the anniversary of the Constitution’s signing.

The commission “will encourage our educators to teach your children about the miracle of American history and make plans to honor the 250th anniversary of our founding” in 2026, Trump said. More

Teach our children what is in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and let them read the Federalist Papers so they can decide for themselves exactly what the Founding Fathers were all about.

Our education system needs a massive overhaul…There’s too much push toward teaching kids to take tests and not enough teaching of all the basic subjects for a good well-rounded educational foundation!

Trump Created a Middle-Class Boom That Helped Women and Minorities Most

A recent editorial in ‘Issues & Insights’ points out that President Trump did more for the middle-class, women, and minorities than any president ever has.

Published

on

A recent editorial in Issues & Insights points out that President Donald Trump did more for the middle-class, women, and minorities than any president ever has.

Liberals, Democrats, and the lying press have been claiming that Trump has been bad for women and minorities, but at least on the economy, Issues & Insights says the claim is a flat out lie.

“Not that you’d ever know it from the media blackout, but households have seen the biggest jump in real median income in at least 52 years, I & I wrote in a September 15 editorial.

The staff editorial added that if Trump were a Democrat these “incredible achievements” would be “leading every newspaper and TV news program.”

“The absence press coverage is even more astounding when you consider that the gains were among lower-income families, women, blacks and Hispanics,” the piece continued.

This is unarguably true. If Trump were a Democrat and had done all this, he would be a shoo-in for re-election because the media would be praising him every second of every day.

The editorial included a VERY long list of Trump achievements, including: “Median household income reaches all-time high: In 2019, median household income shot up 6.8%, the biggest annual increase since at least 1967.”

Even more amazing, “The top 5% of households saw their share of total income drop,” they wrote, and “Lower-income families gained the most.”

“The bottom fifth of households saw their incomes climb 10% under Trump. Those in the next fifth saw incomes rise more than 9%,” they said.

Women came away big winner, too:

Women gained ground. The female-to-male earnings ratio – a flawed measure of inequality that is nevertheless a fixation of the left – went from 81.7% in 2017 to 82.3% in 2019. That’s the highest ratio in more than 50 years.

Nearly 3 million women entered the workforce over those years, hitting an all-time high of 52 million. By comparison, 2.1 women million joined the workforce in Obama’s last three years in office.

Also:

Minorities gained more than whites. Whites’ median income climbed 6.8% from 2017 to 2019. Blacks saw median incomes rise more than 10%. Asians more than 15%, Hispanics more than 7%.

The editorial has even more than that, but these are key issues.

Now, why hasn’t the media been telling us about this?

Oh, that’s right, the media isn’t about reporting truth and facts.

The longer version of the video, from 2019, shows President Trump is walking towards his wife Melania before they depart in a helicopter.

Trump Enemy John Bolton Already Destroyed ‘The Atlantic’s’ Lie About Trump Slamming ‘Loser’ Soldiers

John Bolton set himself up as Trump’s enemy this year, but even his anti-Trump book debunks the lies that Trump hates our fallen soldiers.

Published

on

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton set himself up as Trump’s enemy this year, but even his anti-Trump book debunks the lies that Trump hates our fallen soldiers put out by The Atlantic.

On Thursday evening, The Atlantic, a partisan, left-wing rag, floated the “anonymous” claims of sources who said that two years ago Donald Trump called our soldiers fallen in battle nothing but a bunch of “suckers” and “losers.”

First of all, we know this clam is a lie because the magazine says it happened two years ago. And in the climate of “Trump gotchas,” the chances of something this big staying a secret for two years is zero.

If it were true, some Trump hater in the deep state would have leaked these “anonymous” sources long ago to “get” Trump. So, we know this story is crap on that fact alone.

But we don’t need supposition because a Trump hater has already reported the very incident that The Atlantic was pushing on Thursday, and his report has no hint of Trump saying soldiers killed in battle are “losers.”

In his anti-Trump book that came out in June, John bolton had written about the very incident that The Atlantic tried to turn into a Trump attack this week.

One claim by the magazine is that Trump did not want to visit the WWII Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in May of 2018 because he had no interest in memorializing the “losers” and “suckers” who would get captured or die in battle.

The Aisne-Marne cemetery holds the last resting place of nearly 2,300 American soldiers, including hundreds of U.S. Marines that died in the World War One Battle of Belleau Wood on June 1918.

The Atlantic bases its calumny on claims from four anonymous federal officials.

But in his book, Bolton has a far different story about what happened that day in 2018.

On Saturday, I went to the U.S. Ambassador’s residence, where Trump was staying, to brief him for his bilateral with [French President Emmanuel Macron]. The weather was bad and [former Chief of Staff John Kelly] and I spoke about whether to travel as planned to the Chateau-Thierry Belleau Woods monuments and nearby American Cemeteries, where many U.S. World War I were buried. Marine One’s crew were saying that bad visibility could make it imprudent to chopper to the cemetery. The ceiling was not too low for Marines to fly in combat, but flying POTUS was obviously something very different. If a motorcade were necessary, it could take between ninety and a hundred and twenty minutes each way, along roads that were not exactly freeways, posing an unacceptable risk that we could not get the President out of France quickly enough in case of an emergency. It was a straightforward decision to cancel the visit but very hard for a Marine like Kelly to recommend, having originally been the one to suggest Belleau Wood (an iconic battle in Marine Corps history). Trump agreed, and it was decided that others would drive to the cemetery instead.

The press turned canceling the military visit into a story that Trump was afraid of the rain and took glee in pointing out that other world leaders traveled around during the day. Of course, none of them were President of the United States, but the press didn’t understand that rules for US presidents are different from the rules for 190 other leaders who don’t command the world’s greatest military forces.

Bolton was there for this whole event. And he was part of Trump’s inner circle at the time.

If Trump was going around calling our fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers,” Bolton would surely have said so in a book where every other page is an attack on the President.

There is another eyewitness to the events on the day in question and she also calls The Atlantic’s fake news story a pack of lies.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was Trump’s press secretary at the time, also said she never heard any such words come out of Trump’s mouth that day. She was also there.

This BS story from The Atlantic is nothing more than a lie thrown at the wall just ahead of the election in hopes that it will hurt the president on Election Day.

Court Sides with Trump: Blocks New York’s Attempt to Get His Tax Returns

A federal appeals court has sided with Donald Trump and put up a roadblock to stop the State of New York from getting hold of his tax returns.

Published

A federal appeals court has sided with Donald Trump and put up a roadblock to stop the State of New York from getting hold of his tax returns.

The 2nd Circuit Court of appeals agreed with the President’s attorneys and agreed to delay the release of the documents to New York authorities, according to the New York Post.

The court ruled that the president’s returns can now stay undisclosed until Sept. 25, when they are set to hear the president’s case for barring the state from getting his documents.

The tax documents are being sought by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance who has been looking for ways to destroy Trump.

Vance is claiming to be investigating “hush money” Trump paid to women who claimed they intended to release information about sexual encounters they claim to have had with Trump.

Vance later issued a subpoena to Trump’s accounting firm Mazars for eight years of his tax returns.

But Trump’s attorney called the demand a “fishing expedition” and said Vance had no cause to demand the documents.

The president’s attorneys argued that Vance should not be able to “run roughshod” over Trump and said the “the deck was clearly stacked against” Trump in the case.

Liberals have been furious that Trump has refused to reveal his tax returns like other presidential candidates have in the last several cycles.
