The Ten Worst Hollywood/Entertainment Moments of 2019

Hollywood gets worse every year, but 2019 was a banner year for bad. Here are ten of some of Hollywood and the entertainment industry’s worst moments.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry get worse every year, but 2019 was a banner year for bad. Here are some of Hollywood’s and the entertainment industry’s worst moments.

Jussie Smollett

Perhaps thinking that being the “victim” of a “hate crime” would give him leverage to demand more money from his TV show, little known actor Jussie Smollett called the Chicago Police early in January and claimed that “two Trump hat-wearing, white, racists” threw bleach on him, hung a noose around his neck, beat him, and yelled racial epithets at him.

However, a police investigation found that Smollett hired two black men to attack him so that he could perpetrate a hoax. Smollett was arrested and charged, but a liberal Chicago prosecutor let him off the hook and set him free despite his obvious hoax.

Trending: In China People Are Posting Signs Cheering Coronavirus Deaths in the U.S.A.

Smollett was quickly written out of his Fox TV show and has become a pariah in the acting business (at least for now). But not before all of Hollywood rose up to come to his support in talks show interviews, videos, and on social media.

Few of them apologized for falling for the hoax.

Stormy Daniels and Michael Avenatti

Stormy Daniels, the former porn star, is about as fringe as you can get for the “entertainment” industry. But she still counts for a major mess. Daniels is the porn star who claimed that she was sexually assaulted by President Donald Trump (before he was president) and Michael Avenatti was her attorney. Not only did Daniels completely fail to revive her porn career with the charges against Trump she hoped would bring her notice, her attorney, Avenattii, ended up under multiple investigations for fraud and criminal actions. Avenatti became a momentary star all on his own when he claimed that he was going to run for president, and he became the toast of the town… for about 15 minutes. One member of Hollywood after another pronounced their hope that Avenatti would run for president. Few denounced him when the extent of his criminal actions came to light.

Movie Musical Cats Disaster

What an absolute disaster this movie is. Opening in December, the film featured a long list of what should have been bankable stars. Big names such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Dame Judi Dench, and many more donned the digital fur for this mess. But no one cared, apparently.

The film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Weber stage hit cost a whopping $95 million to make. But even with all the big names and a Christmas release (when musicals usually do well), studios knew they had trouble on their hands. They only expected a $15 million opening weekend, showing just how bad the studios thought the film would do. But it did even worse than that by earning less than $7 million over its opening weekend. Ugh. What. A. Bomb.

It gets worse. The special effects were so bad that the studio took the history-making measure of rushing a second print of the film to theaters to update the bad CGI while the film was in its opening weekend. That is a Hollywood first!

But, hey, at least Judi Dench said that her character was transgender. And, yes, everyone rolled their eyes at that bit of nonsense.

CNN can no longer be classified as news and must now be formally identified as left-wing fiction. Its year-long Russia obsession made of it a laughingstock, but even that aside, CNN’s ratings have collapsed utterly to the point that it now has lower ratings than the gardening channel. CNN has utterly collapsed as a real news channel.

Twitter itself is obviously not Hollywood, but it has served as a platform for all the worst dipwads, anti-Americans, and psychos that Hollywood has to offer.

Nutcases such as Cher, Jim Carrey, Debra Messing, Bette Midler, and Alyssa Milano and so many more have spent all year spewing their hatred against Republicans, Donald Trump, and regular Americans on the social media platform. They may need the therapy but the rest of us do not.

Serial Films

For the most part, serial film franchises fell apart in 2019. The Marvel superhero movies aside, most of the attempts to reboot or continue film franchises crashed and burned this year. Crashing failures included, Hell Boy, Men in Black, Terminator, Charlie’s Angels, Godzilla, Shaft, X-Men, Rambo and Child’s Play (Chucky) all failed miserably this year.

John Travolta

What happened to this guy, anyway? The once bankable star has continued his slow slide into obscurity with one odd bomb after another. For years most of his films have gone straight to video, but this year Travolta uncorked two flicks that were widely panned as godawful.

For film number one, coming off last year’s laugher, Gotti, Travolta starred in the boring family drama, Trading Paint. A story about a car racer whose wife (played by singer Shania Twain) is trying to become an actress. She was obviously not trying in the film, but, well…

Travolta foisted a second disaster on the viewing public with the much-derided revenge flick, The Fanatic, a story about a fan who is so upset over being snubbed by his favorite star that he kidnaps the actor.

Both films went right to rental, and were quickly forgotten, just like nearly every other film he has made in the last decade.

Worst Woke Movies

This year, Hollywood foisted on us all a large number of films that were a more a PC political statement with a movie attached than a movie with a few political statements attached.

The worst of the year’s “woke” films include What Men Want, Charlie’s Angels, The Hustle, Black Christmas, Book Smart, Late Night, and Terminator: Dark Fate.

Perhaps not incidentally, every one of these films was a box office bomb.

The Joker

Director Todd Phillips’ oddball take on the origin of the DC Comics character, the Joker, was not the problem with The Joker. The media’s unhinged take on the film ahead of its release was the real problem with the 2019, stand-alone superhero film that has no superheroes.

In the weeks preceding the film’s October release, the unhinged media “reported” one absurd take on the film after another. The media claimed that the violence in the film would surely serve as an excuse for mentally disturbed wannabe killers to flood theaters and shoot the places up.

The film opened, but no one was harmed. Except, maybe, for the reputation of the comic book character and the fake news media.

Perhaps as a result of the ridiculous hype of violence, the film was propelled to the biggest box office hot of any R-rated film in history. But no one shot up a theater or caused any real disruptions.

The Simpsons and its foolish fawning over “the Squad”

There once was a day when the longest running cartoon/sitcom in TV history would skewer both sides of the political divide equally. Over the years The Simpsons have slammed, ribbed, chided, and lampooned both parties and heroes of both left and right. But for some inexplicable reason, the Matt Groening mainstay couldn’t find anything to slam The Squad over.

The episode entitled West Wing Story, which aired in August, treated The Squad as prophets who had to slap down an evil President Donald Trump.

The Squad is made up of four real life freshman Democrat congresswomen including the socialist, anti-Christian, pro-Muslim and pro-green energy pols Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Ilhan Omar (MN), Ayanna Pressley (MA), and Rashida Tlaib (MI).

All four of these women hate America and Israel, despise capitalism, and have run rampant through Washington spewing hate and idiotic policy pronouncements all year. But Matt Groening

Just get a load of this crap:

What in the blue blazes? Nothing even-handed about that lionization of four of America’s most un-American politicians!

Hollywood and the entertainment industry have done a lot to harm this country this year, sadly. These entries above are just a few examples.

‘Thor’ Actor Arrested by FBI After Selling ‘Coronavirus Cure’ to Undercover Agent

Things are always a little stranger in Hollywood.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, I suppose.

As a global pandemic races around the planet, and the people of earth feverishly attempt to starve the beast, there is a strange wind blowing.  This is an unprecedented situation for this modern world with the only workable example of a similar outbreak coming to us from just over a century ago.

The pressure may be too much for some people to handle, however, as evidenced by some of the stranger bits of news that we’ve seen exposed to.

And, as always, things are even stranger in Hollywood.

FBI agents on Wednesday arrested a small-time SoCal actor for allegedly claiming he had invented a pill that would prevent and cure the new coronavirus.

Keith Lawrence Middlebrook, 53, was charged with one count of attempted wire fraud, a felony offense that carries a statutory maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison, according to the FBI.

Middlebrook, whose IMDb credits include tiny, uncredited parts in Iron Man 3, Thor and Moneyball, allegedly claimed to have personally developed a “patent-pending cure” for coronavirus, the pandemic that has devastated the world, according to authorities. (Currently, there is no antiviral treatment for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, and no vaccine to prevent coronavirus infection).

Oh, it gets stranger.

“I have Developed the Cure for the CoronaVirus COVID-19…*LA Patient tested Positive for CoronaVirus got up and walked out 51 hours after my Injection,” Middlebrook allegedly said via text to one would-be investor who worked with the FBI on its investigation. In the same text message, cited by federal authorities, Middlebrook allegedly wrote, “Investors who come in at ground level say $1M will parachute with $200M – $300M…Conservative Minimum.”

Middlebrook was arrested during a meeting at which he delivered some sort of pills — purportedly the coronavirus treatment — to an undercover agent who was posing as an investor, the FBI said.

Authorities are now warning Americans that an increasing number of scams and schemes such as this would inundate society in the next few weeks, and to be on the lookout for anything that sounds too good to be true.

As always, is your best bet for up-to-date information on the virus.

Twitter Reacts Bigly After Notorious Hollywood Creep Catches Coronavirus

Social media users did not hold back.

We can all agree that 2020 is off to some start, eh?

This has been a monumental year, and we’re only 11-ish weeks into it.  As it stands today, the biggest story in the world revolves around a nasty little virus that has been making its way into the far corners of the globe.  The virus, known as Covid-19, is a respiratory ailment that eventually and painfully ends in lung failure for an as-of-yet-unknown number of those who contract it.  The death rate seems to be hovering around 1% still, but the accuracy of that number is still very much on shaky ground as mild cases often do not find their way into the equation without a doctor or hospital visit.

And while that number may seem low, coronavirus is deadly and dangerous on account of its stealthy ability to spread unnoticed among populations for up to two weeks.  This means that, even if the mortality rate hopefully remains as low as the 1% being reported this week, there are going to be many, many thousands of people dead….if not more.

The danger that the disease poses is far more significant for those with immunity issues and the elderly than any other demographic at this stage.  That’s why Harvey Weinstein should be worried.

Former movie mogul and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein has been placed in isolation in a New York prison after testing positive for the coronavirus, the head of the state correctional officers union said Monday.

The revelations was followed by a statement from Weinstein’s spokesman and lawyers condemning the disclosure as a violation of Weinstein’s rights to medical privacy.

Weinstein, who turned 68 on March 19, is being isolated at maximum security Wende Correctional Facility, in a town near Buffalo in upstate New York.

Of course, Weinstein is not a popular man among Americans after being sentenced to 23 years prison time for sexual assault, and with well over one hundred women claiming to have been touched, groped, solicited, or even raped by the film mogul.

This disdain for the Tinsel Town big shot led to a number of powerful reactions on Twitter.

Of course, some on social media were lamenting the fact that Weinstein was tested at all, given how many civilians are still waiting to be tested.  The answer almost certainly lies in the necessity of keeping close-quarters populations as safe as possible, for fear of the virus spreading uncontrolled throughout the prison system.

WATCH: President Trump and CNN’s Jim Acosta Get Heated at Presser in India

This isn’t the first time that Trump and Acosta have tangled, and it certainly won’t be the last.

President Trump must feel a bit like a parent whose children are misbehaving at a dinner party hosted by his acquaintances.

That’s because, while on a trip to India, the Commander in Chief has been forced to reprimand CNN’s Jim Acosta in front of the entire world, metaphorically dragging the reporter outside by his ear.

Acosta asked Trump if he would accept foreign interference in the upcoming election and how he could justify replacing Joseph Maguire as acting director of national intelligence.

The president didn’t appreciate the two-part question.

“First of all, I want no help from any country, and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump answered before referencing a report that CNN had to walk back on Sunday. “If you see what CNN, your wonderful network said, I guess they apologized in a way. Didn’t they apologize for the fact that they said certain things that weren’t true? Tell me, what was their apology yesterday? What did they say?”

Acosta fired back, “Mr. President, I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes.”

That simply set the President off.

“Your record is so bad that you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You have probably the worst record in the history of broadcasting,” Trump said as Acosta attempted to interrupt.

Video of the incident was difficult to watch.

Acosta briefly had his press credentials yanked by the White House months ago after getting into an altercation with a female White House aide who was looking to retrieve a microphone from the reporter at the direction of the President.

‘I Still Believe’: Christian Movie Trailer Earns 8.5 Million Views Before Film Even Opens

The latest budding hit is the upcoming film, ‘I Still Believe,’ which earned 8.5 million views of its trailer before the movie has even hit theaters.

Christian movies have been growing in influence and success, and the latest budding hit is the upcoming film, I Still Believe, which has earned 8.5 million views of its trailer before the movie has even hit theaters.

Directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin and distributed by Lionsgate, the movie features the love story of award-winning Christian singer Jeremy Camp and his first wife, Melissa. The cast includes KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain, and Gary Sinise.

The film does not hit theaters until March 13, but the YouTube trailer has already earned a staggering 8.5 million views.

The huge number of views has brought the attention of the media.

Forbes senior contributor Scott Mendelson, for instance, calls the film a “special case.”

“Even in a time when more movies get the ‘IMAX Experience,’ I Still Believe qualifies as a special case,” Mendelson wrote February 11.

Mendelson is calling the film “the next big faith-based hit.”

Riverdale star KJ Apa plays the title role of Jeremy Camp, and fiancée Melissa is played by actress Britt Robertson.

“Earlier we had some tough news,” the Camp character tells a packed auditorium from the stage in the trailer. “Can we do something special for the most special person in my life tonight? Can we pray for her?”

Camp tells his audience that the “tough news” is that Melissa has ovarian cancer.

Camp’s parents (Shania Twain, and Gary Sinise), question his decision to marry Melissa due to her cancer diagnosis Camp replies saying, “I’m supposed to be with her. I can’t explain it, I just know that.”

“I want you to know that whatever this is, and wherever it takes us, that I’m with you every step, every moment, I’m with you,” he tells his love in the trailer. “I’m in.”

Co-director Andrew Erwin recently told Christian Headlines that thinks the film will reach a broader audience than just Christian fans.

“We’re trying to give the church a tool that they can use to reach their community,” he said. “So it’s definitely still engaging the church – but for a different purpose. It’s to reach out beyond the church walls.”

Half a dozen other mainstream media outlets have also written about the movie, noting the film’s expectations for success, Townhall reported.

Hate Hoaxer Jussie Smollett Faces Six New Indictments in Chicago

Chicago Police aren’t done with Jussie Smollett just yet…

There are few things in this world that are more despicable than racism.  In America, these heinous beliefs are all the more out-of-place thanks to our national belief that all are created equal.

You can’t have any real freedom without equality, making bigotry of any sort a stain on our great nation.

Even worse than racism itself are the attempts to weaponize this ugly reality for personal gain.  This exploitation of evil is simply inexcusable, as television actor Jussie Smollett learned several months ago.

Smollett alleged that he was the victim of a horrendous, racially-motivated assault on the street of Chicago, where two men allegedly hurled ethnic and sexual slurs at him while brandishing a noose and spouting some suspiciously-generic political epithets.  Chicago Police soon discovered that Smollett had hoaxed the entire incident in order to gain notoriety, which sparked a righteous outrage.  That anger grew after the charges against Smollett were dropped by a well-connected DA.

The Chicago Police Department was rightfully furious about Smollett’s surprise vindication, and promptly sued the actor for $130,000 – a figure said to represent the amount of resources wasted on the hoax.

And that’s not the end of the trouble that Smollett faces, either.

Television actor Jussie Smollett will be arraigned Monday on a six-count indictment charging him with falsely reporting that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack near his Chicago home.

Smollett, 37, was expected to plead not guilty to felony charges of disorderly conduct during his appearance in Cook County Circuit Court a day after Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot declared that he should be should be “held accountable” for falsely reporting a crime.

Smollett believed that the fame he would have gained by surviving the purported “hate crime” would have allowed him to request a pay increase in Hollywood, making the entire fiasco all the more disturbing.

LA Times Says Trump’s Taste in Movies is Now ‘Racist’

Well this is just silly.

When it comes to insulting the President of the United States, the so-called “resistance” has tried it all.

They’ve thrown everything at Trump, from spray-tan accusations to intimating that he is the second coming of Adolph Hitler.  They’ve given book deals to washed up porn stars in order to humiliate him, and they’ve tried to convince the world that he worked for The Kremlin.

Now, inexplicably and ridiculously, even Trump’s taste in movies is an issue.

Los Angeles Times film critic Justin Chang said Friday on CNN that President Donald Trump mentioning the movie “Gone With the Wind” at his rally was a “racist dog whistle.”

Chang said, “It’s kind of unfortunate, I think, that we have a president whose entire presidency is founded on xenophobia and of course his comments are not surprising coming from someone who likes to dehumanize people of other cultures and people of color. So none of that’s surprising.”

He went on:

He continued, “Well, that whole thing, “Gone with the Wind” and “Sunset Boulevard,” that all smacks of a dog whistle hearkening back to an earlier era of Hollywood greatness. Look, we can love “Gone with the Wind,” and also acknowledge it’s the romantic view of the old South, which many people find problematic. That is another racist dog whistle as well.”

Chang would later go on to say that Trump is also “lazy” for not having a more current repertoire of Hollywood films to speak of.

Baldwin Goes on Tirade, Says ‘Sniveling’ Republicans Akin to Germans Under Hitler

Inevitable. Imbecilic. Insensitive.

America’s political cauldron has reached a boil in 2020.  We are at our hysterical peak.  There is nothing that surprises us anymore…not in the least.

Case in point:  The melding of politics and entertainment into one cohesive and all-consuming unit.  Just earlier today we reported on two Hollywood Walk of Fame recipients were working together to solve the homeless problem in California.

Now, one of the small screen’s biggest names is again inserting himself into the political conversation, this time evoking one of history’s most maniacal men in order to raise a petulant point.

Actor Alec Baldwin is doubling down on his Nazi rhetoric by once again equating President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

In a recent tweet on Thursday, the 30 Rock actor blamed Republican senators for lacking the courage to stop “Hitler” — i.e., Trump — from seizing power.

“You wonder how Hitler took control of a once great country,” Baldwin wrote. “For those of you too young to recall the War or its aftermath, simply watch how this GOP-controlled Senate behaves. Their sniveling fealty and lack of courage. And you begin to get it.”

It was only days ago that Baldwin insisted that Trump is pushing our nation toward a “lawless and malignant” dictatorship.

Much of Tinsel Town has resorted to smearing the President as some sort fo Hitlerian figure, which is deeply offensive to those whose families were affected by the Holocaust.
