THANKSGIVING: Dumping Communism Saved the Pilgrims, Not the Indians

Published

on

Our kids have been taught fake news about America’s first Thanksgiving. The Indians didn’t save the Pilgrims. Ending communism did.

It is simply untrue that the Pilgrims were able to celebrate their first Thanksgiving feast because the noble Indians saved them by showing them the ways of America. No, in reality, the Pilgrims were saved because they replaced their original communist system with a capitalist ideal.

William Bradford’s fellows came to the Americas to start a colony that would be a light unto all humanity, one based on a strict adherence to the Christian Bible. They wanted the opportunity to live as they desired, unique, and free from interference from the Church of England, the Crown, or British authorities.

But when they arrived near modern-day Massachusetts and founded Plymouth Plantation — which we often call the Plymouth Colony today — they came ill-prepared to live in the wildlands they encountered.

It is absolutely true that the members of the colony became friendly with the local Wampanoag Indians. It is also true that the natives helped the colonists learn a bit more about the bounteous land the Pilgrims came to call their own.

But the colony had a flaw inherent in its original plan, and it wasn’t just a fatal unfamiliarity with how to survive in the new world. It was a flaw that almost doomed the colonists.

The problem was, the original plan for how the outpost would operate was essentially a communist system. The original plan was for all labors to contribute to a central store. Just like a commune, everyone would work for the benefit of everyone else, and all would benefit equally from the colony’s labors.

That plan sounded like a perfectly sensible, Christian ideal, after all. Bradford and his fellows thought everyone would love everyone else equally, and in Christian charity, all would be cared for equally.

Unfortunately, that is not how human nature works. And the colonists soon learned this the hard way.

The common store idea was a miserable failure because some wanted to take without giving as much into it as others had. In other words, Bradford found that some people just didn’t want to work that hard if they knew they were going to benefit from the common stores just like everyone else. Worse, some became embittered that they had worked so hard while others did not.

So, Bradford dumped the original communist ideal and replaced it with a more capitalist one by assigning a plot of land to each family to work as their own, the labors of which would benefit themselves first and foremost.

Bradford chronicled the change this way:

The experience that we had in this common course and condition tried sundry years…that by taking away property, and bringing community into a commonwealth, would make them happy and flourishing — as if they were wiser than God.

For this community (so far as it was) was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For the young men, that were most able and fit for labour and service, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense.

The strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes than he that was weak and not able to do a quarter the other could; this was thought injustice. The aged and graver men to be ranked and equalized in labours and victuals, clothes, etc., with the meaner and younger sort, thought it some indignity and disrespect unto them.

Worse, some were embittered by the system and felt that working for the common store was “a kind of slavery”:

And for men’s wives to be commanded to do service for other men, as dressing their meat, washing their clothes, etc., they deemed it a kind of slavery, neither could many husbands well brook it.

But once Bradford assigned each family their own land, things began to turn around. “This had very good success,” wrote Bradford, “for it made all hands industrious.”

The change came just in time and turned the colony around. Plymouth Plantations went from a failing effort into a successful one.

This is not to utterly discount the help and guidance that the Indians gave the Pilgrims. They were also an essential part of the success of the Plymouth Plantations.

But the shop-worn story that the Pilgrims were stupid, starving, and dying until the noble Indians swept in and gave them a turkey and a pumpkin pie is a false narrative. The colonists did as much to save themselves by dumping a communist ideal as the Indians did to help them learn how to scratch out a life in the Massachusetts wilderness. As in most cases, real history is far more complicated than a facile trope.

So, let’s put an end to the fake history, shall we?

‘Reporter’ Tries to Get Target Worker Tori Fired Because He Didn’t Like Toothbrush Price

A jerk who thinks being a “verified reporter” makes him important recently used Twitter to try and ruin the life of a Target worker.

A jerk who thinks being a “verified reporter” on Twitter makes him important recently used Twitter to try and ruin the life of a Target worker because she refused to sell him a toothbrush at the price on the tag because the sticker had been improperly affixed to the product.

David Leavitt calls himself an “Award-Winning Multimedia Journalist” on his Twitter account. He claims he has worked for “CBS, AXS, Yahoo, Examiner,” and others. But on Friday, he jumped to that Twitter account imagining that he had a blockbuster story about how a Target outlet in Massachusetts would not sell him an Oral B electronic toothbrush for a penny.

On Friday afternoon, Leavitt was furious when he thought he found a toothbrush listed at one penny, but then discovered that the Target shift manager refused to ring it up for that price because the tag had been improperly affixed to a counter display.

“This Target manager Tori is not honoring the price of their items per Massachusetts law,” the incensed “reporter” wrote adding that he “had to call the police” on the manager.

With his arrogance on full display, Leavitt seemed extra mad because the police told hm they would not arrest Tori or do anything else because he would have to take the retailer to court for redress.

Leavitt may have thought he would get the love of anti-capitalists everywhere for his attack on Tori and her store, but Twitter saw the “reporter’s” story a bit differently. Indeed, most Twitter users thought that the person in the wrong here was Leavitt, not Tori.

Leavitt was ripped to pieces by people wondering why he was trying to destroy the life of a poor store manager. Others sided with Tori because Leavitt was exactly the type of jerkoff customer that all retail workers dread.

Here is a sample of some of those Twitter users who took a swipe at Leavitt:

Needless to say, there are thousands of Tweets like this. Leavitt got absolutely no support for his quest to destroy Tori’s life.

And then there was the guy who realized that Leavitt claimed he had not been to a dentist for “three years” but who found a post Leavitt made just over a year and a half ago where the “reporter” talked about going to a dentist:

So, did this “reporter” lie? Has it been “over three years” since he went to a dentist, or not?

Yes, the media really is full of creeps like this, isn’t it?

Still, when all is said and done, this may end hp helping young Tori out. Someone stated a “Tori Vacation Fund” on GoFundMe and it already has more than $14,000 in donations pledged to it!

Finally, here are some screen shots of Leavitt’s tweets, just in case he realizes what an ass he looks like and deletes them:

Horror Writer Stephen King Facing Backlash for Saying ‘Quality’ Matters Over ‘Diversity’

Stephen King, the legendary horror writer and virulently liberal anti-Trumper, is facing a backlash from his left-wing fans.

Published

Stephen King, the legendary horror writer and virulently liberal anti-Trumper, is facing a backlash from his left-wing fans after he said that “quality” should be more important than “diversity” in entertainment.

King made his comments after the announcements of the Oscar nominations that proved to be severely lacking in minority nominees.

King saw his extremely liberal fan base complaining about the very white Oscar nominations. And King waded in to tell his fans what part he has in the Motion Picture Academy.

“As a writer, I am allowed to nominate in just 3 categories: Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Screenplay. For me, the diversity issue — as it applies to individual actors and directors, anyway — did not come up. That said… I would never consider diversity in matters of art. Only quality. It seems to me that to do otherwise would be wrong,” King tweeted.

But the Shinning writer quickly found his fans on the attack.

The editor of Zora magazine was one fan who took a shot at the It scribe.

“With the utmost respect, I think this is quite a bit unfair. When films created by people of color, irrespective of quality, constantly get overlooked by institutions that are predominately comprised of white men, there is an implicit bias at work here,” she tweeted.

Other hardcore liberals piled on:

It wasn’t long before King was trying to walk back his previous statements… at least a bit:

260 Million Christians Face ‘High Levels Of Persecution’

“It is worth noting that in eight of the top ten countries where Christian persecution is highest, Islamist ideology is the prime driver of the hostility.”

Published

260 million Christians face ‘extreme’, ‘very high’, or ‘high’ levels of persecution.

Growing pressure on Christians in China, Algeria, Burkina Faso, according to the 2020 Open Doors World Watch List. Christians face severe persecution in 73 countries.

“The church is alive. The church is active. The church is growing. And that’s why the church is persecuted,” says Open Doors in its 2020 report. “The persecution of Christians is getting more severe than ever, affecting increasing numbers of believers around the world.”

Each year, Open Doors releases the World Watch List, an annual look at the 50 places where following Jesus costs the most. This year, join David Curry as he takes into the story behind some of the numbers, and looks at how pressure changes the Church.

Breitbart:

Christian persecution around the globe reached an unprecedented level at the end of 2019, with over 260 million Christians facing “high levels of persecution,” Open Doors revealed Wednesday.

In its World Watch List 2020, Open Doors notes that one in 8 believers around the world suffers serious levels of persecution, while providing an in-depth look at the 50 countries where it is most dangerous to be a Christian.

In a nutshell, the new report reveals, every day, eight Christians are killed because of their faith and 23 Christians are raped or sexually harassed; every week, 182 Christian churches or buildings are attacked and 102 Christian homes, shops or businesses are attacked, burned, or destroyed; every month, 309 Christians are imprisoned unjustly.

The most acute persecution of Christians occurs in North Korea, the report found, but Afghanistan is close behind in the number two slot.

In the case of North Korea, persecution is driven by a virulent atheistic Communist ideology which views the estimated 200,000 to 400,000 Christians as traitors of the state because their allegiance is to God, not supreme leader Kim Jong Un. Moreover, they also form part of the lowest “hostile class” in the country’s social stratification system called Songbun. More

Rather than helping peaceful Christians that are persecuted around the world, western governments insist on helping Muslims! Print off the report from Open Doors and provide it to your Pastor and church leadership. If this is not being discussed from the pulpit, ask your church leadership why it is not.

Iran Openly Recruiting Suicide Bombers to Attack U.S.A.

Iran is now openly advertising for suicide bombers to volunteer to attack American forces, even inside the U.S. itself.

Published

on

Iran is now openly advertising for suicide bombers to volunteer to attack American forces, even inside the U.S. itself.

Students at Iran’s Islamic Azad University are finding flyers urging them to end their lives for the Mullahs, according to the New York Post.

“Registration for volunteers to commit a suicide attack against the United States and Israel,” the flier says. “Hard revenge is underway for those criminals who killed Qassem Soleimani.”

The flyer also claims to quote Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and urges students to “kill all infidels.”

The flyer includes a section for hopeful suicide bombers to fill in their names and personal information. They are also asked to “tell us about your talents.”

The existence of the flyer was first reported by the Iranian media.

As the Post reported:

A translation of the call to action from Farsi was provided to The Post by escaped Iranian dissident Amir-Abbas Fakhravar. Fakhravar is a longtime pro-Democracy activist currently serving as a chairman of the National Iranian Congress, a quasi-government in exile currently operated out of Washington D.C. He is also an adjunct professor in the Texas state university system.

Sources in Iran say that the flyers were handed out by student cells of Basij, the militia arm of the Iranian revolutionary guard.

“This office is kind of like the gestapo for the regime. They are not fully on the payroll of the regime, but the regime pays them for their projects. When there is a protest somewhere, they are going to crack down on the people and then they get money,” Fakhravar told The Post.

“When I was in medical school in Iran, I had a huge fight with the Basij office. I was ultimately charged with insulting the Supreme Leader,” Fakhravarsaid. “For decades they have been recruiting for terrorist attacks for this type of things.

The chief of the Basij, Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani (no relation to Qassem), was appointed directly by Ayatollah Khamenei.

REVEALED: Teen Climate Fraud Greta Thunberg Does Not Write Her Own Social Media Posts

Well, it looks like teenaged climate scold Greta Thunberg is an even bigger fraud than we thought.

Published

on

Well, it looks like teenaged climate scold Greta Thunberg is an even bigger fraud than we thought after a Facebook glitch revealed that she doesn’t even write any of the social media posts that she claims to write.

The Facebook glitch accidentally revealed that at least two other people write the social media posts that appear under Greta’s name.

The little fraud doesn’t even write her own social media posts!

Unbelievable.

The Facebook glitch accidentally allowed people to see who had permissions to post to Greta’s Facebook page, and it turned out most of the posts on the page were made by some dude in India named Adarsh Prathap, and Greta’s dad, Svantes.

“We quickly fixed an issue where someone could see who edited or published a post on behalf of a Page when looking at its edit history,” Facebook said in a statement. “We are grateful to the security researcher who alerted us to this issue.”

But Wired magazine added, “Still, despite the Friday morning fix, screenshots circulated on 4chan, Imgur, and social media appearing to show the accounts behind the official Facebook Pages of the pseudonymous artist Banksy, Russian president Vladimir Putin, former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, the hacking collective Anonymous, climate activist Greta Thunberg, and rapper Snoop Dogg, among others.”

The teen climate scold finally made a statement on her fraud saying that she decided that Facebook wasn’t for her.

“Some people have been asking who manages this page. First of all, since last spring I only use Facebook to repost what I write on my Twitter and Instagram accounts,” she wrote.

“Since I have chosen not to be on Facebook personally ( I tried early on but decided it wasn’t for me) I use my father Svantes account to repost content, because you need an account to moderate a Facebook page,” she explained.

She added that Prathap created the page without her knowledge ahead of time, but she just decided to let the fraud go on as if it was her page.

So, she KNEW that it was a fraud, but let it go on with her full knowledge.

The teen then insisted that she is the author of all her tweets.

Sure she is. Suuure she is.

The Funniest Obituary You’ll Read This Month

It took death to bring out the fun from former ‘Des Moines Register’ reporter Ken Fuson wrote his own obituary, and to hilarious effect.

Published

on

We conservatives often laugh at journalists, but usually because they are arrogant, lying, piss-ants, not because they are fun. But it took death to bring out the fun from former Des Moines Register reporter Ken Fuson who wrote his own obituary, and to hilarious effect.

Fuson decided he wanted to have the final word on his life’s work, and his final words were a doosie, for sure.

The 63-year-old journalist passed away this month after a battle with liver disease, but the end didn’t come too fast to prevent him from putting together a very amusing obit that is a must read — yes, even if you never heard of the man.

Without further ado, here is the final column from Ken Fuson:

Ken Fuson, born June 23, 1956, died Jan. 3, 2020 in at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, of liver cirrhosis, and is stunned to learn that the world is somehow able to go on without him.

Ken grew up in Granger, and decided when he was a sophomore at Woodward-Granger High School that he wanted to be a newspaper reporter. He covered sports for the Woodward Enterprise before leaving for the University of Missouri-Columbia. He attended the university’s famous School of Journalism, which is a clever way of saying, “almost graduated but didn’t.” Facing a choice between covering a story for the Columbia Daily Tribune or taking his final exams, Ken went for the story. He never claimed to be smart, just committed.

In 1981, Ken landed his dream job, working as a reporter for The Des Moines Register, where he was probably best known for writing a one-paragraph, one-sentence weather story that has been reprinted in four books.

In 1996, Ken took the principled stand of leaving the Register because The Sun in Baltimore offered him more money. Three years later, having blown most of that money at Pimlico Race Track, he returned to the Register, where he remained until 2008.

In his newspaper work, Ken won several national feature-writing awards, including the Ernie Pyle Award, ASNE Distinguished Writing Award, National Headliner Award, Missouri Award (twice) and Distinguished Writing Award in the Best of Gannett contest (five times, but who’s counting?). No, he didn’t win a Pulitzer Prize, but he’s dead now, so get off his back.

There are those who would suggest that becoming a free-lance writer in the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression was not a wise choice, but Ken was never one to be guided by wisdom.

He wrote the book, “Heading for Home” with Kent Stock, about the 1991 Norway baseball team that won the state championship in its final season. Good copies still available.

In 2011, Ken accepted a job in the marketing department at Simpson College, where he remained until 2018. He enjoyed it very much, but once again forgot an important lesson: Always have a Plan B.

He was diagnosed with liver disease at the beginning of 2019, which is pretty ironic given how little he drank. Eat your fruits and vegetables, kids.

He is survived by his sons, Jesse and Max, and his stepson, Jared Reese, who all brought Ken unsurpassed joy. He hopes they will forgive him for not making the point more often. He loved his boys and was (and is) extraordinarily proud to be their father.

For most of his life, Ken suffered from a compulsive gambling addiction that nearly destroyed him. But his church friends, and the loving people at Gamblers Anonymous, never gave up on him.

Ken last placed a bet on Sept. 5, 2009. He died clean. He hopes that anyone who needs help will seek it, which is hard, and accept it, which is even harder.

Miracles abound. Ken’s pastor says God can work miracles for you and through you. Skepticism may be cool, and for too many years Ken embraced it, but it was faith in Jesus Christ that transformed his life. That was the one thing he never regretted. It changed everything.

For many years Ken was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Indianola and sang in the choir, which was a neat trick considering he couldn’t read a note of music. The choir members will never know how much they helped him. He then joined Lutheran Church of Hope.

If you want to know what God’s love feels like, just walk in those doors. Seriously, right now. We’ll wait. Ken’s not going anywhere.

Ken had many character flaws — if he still owes you money, he’s sorry, sincerely — but he liked to think that he had a good sense of humor and a deep compassion for others. He prided himself on letting other drivers cut in line. He would give you the shirt off his back, even with the ever-present food stain. Thank goodness nobody asked. It wouldn’t have been pretty. He also was a master Jumbles solver.

Other survivors: his father, Don Fuson. Brother: Joe. A niece and two nephews. In lieu of flowers, Ken asked that everyone wear black armbands and wail in public during a one-year grieving period. If that doesn’t work, how about donating a book to the public libraries in Granger or Indianola?

Yes, this obituary is probably too long. Ken always wrote too long.

God is good. Embrace every moment, even the bad ones. See you in heaven. Ken promises to let you cut in line.

Thanks, Ken. Have a wonderful time in the hereafter, brother. You deserve it.

Toronto Police Threaten Journalist For Calling Soleimani A Terrorist

This is disgusting!

Published

on

Toronto police threaten Rebel journalist David Menzies for calling Qasem Soleimani a “terrorist.”

“I can’t call a terrorist, a ‘terrorist?’” Menzies asked. “Not in this sort of environment — no, you can’t, the officer replied. That’s going to incite a breach of the peace and that is Canadian law. Am I clear? It’s a breach of the peace. You will be placed under arrest. You’re not to use that word again, in here, in this environment. Do you understand me?”

Red State:

Toronto Iran supporters held a candlelight vigil for Qasem Soleimani this week and Rebel Media’s David Menzies was there to report on it.

As Menzies worked through the crowd of about 200 protesters, he began asking pointed questions about the general, Iran’s sponsorship of terrorism and sharia law. His questions were obviously designed to provoke and provoke they did.

Early in his video, Menzies begins asking crowd members why they were mourning Soleimani and if they thought he was a terrorist. Most of the responses were typical pro-Iranian fare – the U.S. is the real terrorist, Trump is a murderer, etc. etc. Surprisingly a few people indicated they saw Soleimani as a defender against terrorism in the middle east and ISIS and that the narrative of the slain general was merely propaganda.

In one hilariously “woke” moment a young woman boldly confronted Menzies to tell him her views on Trump as a terrorist. When an older white gentleman interrupted to shoo her away and tell her not to speak to the film crew, Menzies asked why he didn’t want to allow a woman to speak. The man instantly clammed up,

But it didn’t stay funny for long. Six minutes (6:20) into the video, the Toronto police can be seen asking Menzies to stop using the word “terrorism” while filming. The Rebel Media reporter protested that he has free speech rights under the Canadian constitution. Police responded that such words would be considered “incitement” in the context of the protest and demanded he leave the public square. More

Any freedoms Canadians used to have under their Charter of Rights and Freedoms have been decimated under the last four years of the Liberal government and they will continue to be attacked for the next four years! Canada used to be a great country but its “diversity-seeking” leader has all but destroyed their country!
