Seattle Judge Orders Ban on Tear Gas and Pepper Spray Use by Police

…and he cited the Constitution in doing so.

Americans have taken to the streets en masse over the course of the last three weeks, demanding a number of sweeping changes to the way that our nation operates.

First and foremost, there have been loud, large appeals to reexamine the innate bias of several American institutions, and to call out racism and bigotry whenever and wherever it exists.  On top of this general push for us to live up to the ideals of our founding fathers, (all are created equal), there have also been a plethora of calls to wholly reform the way our police forces operate, specifically when it comes to the use of force.

In Seattle, law enforcement officers are about to adjust to a major change in the way they handle unruly crowds.

A judge ruled in favor of a Black Lives Matter group on Friday, banning Seattle police from using tear gas, pepper spray and flash-bang devices to disperse crowds at protests.

The ruling comes after a tense few weeks between law enforcement and protesters and legally reinforces a similar temporary ban by the city’s Mayor Jenny Durkan and Seatle Police Department Chief Carmen Best.

While the move was temporary, the adjudicator invoked a fairly stern reading of the Constitution in making the decision.

U.S. District Judge Richard Jones issued the two-week ban pointing to the dangers of using “indiscriminate” tactics that could harm peaceful protesters or innocent bystanders and claimed the use of force is unconstitutional.

“Because they are indiscriminate, they may even spill into bystanders’ homes or offices as they have done before,” Jones wrote in his ruling.

He also pointed out the potential for tear gas and pepper spray to induce coughing or other reactions that could also spread the coronavirus.

This news comes just days into the secession of six blocks of downtown Seattle from the United States, with the creation of what protesters are calling the “Capital Hill Autonomous Zone”, or “#CHAZ”.

San Francisco Police End Release of Mug Shots Because the Photos Are ‘Racist’

The San Francisco PD is striking a blow against “racism” by ending the release of mug shots because they are racist.

The San Francisco Police Department is striking a blow against “racism” by ending the public release of mug shots because… the photos are apparently racist.

The SFPD claims they are helping end the “perpetuation of racial stereotypes” by ending the release of the photos.

From now on, San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said, the department will not release the photos to the media and will ban officers from posting the photos online.

Per KCRA.:

Booking photos are taken when someone is arrested. They are often made public whether or not the person is prosecuted for the alleged crime, which undermines the presumption of innocence and helps perpetuate stereotypes.

Jack Glaser, a public policy professor at the University of California Berkeley who researches racial stereotyping and whose work Scott consulted, said data shows Black people who are arrested are more likely to have their cases dismissed by prosecutors.

Yet, the mugshots were already made public.

“This is just one small step, but we hope this will be something that others might consider doing as well,” Scott said about ending the practice.

Indeed, there are a number of websites that specialize in compiling mugshot photos and court records for people to use in private investigations, hiring, and other things.

Scott added that there will be exceptions. For instance, if any particular arrestee is determined to be a danger to the public, his booking photo may be released. Or if the department is trying to encourage witnesses to come forward.

San Francisco joins New York and Los Angeles in limiting the release of the photos.

Police Officer Drives Into Crowd After Protesters Surround Car

Police Officer Drives Into Crowd After Protesters Surround Car

Video from the scene captured a Detroit police SUV driving through a crowd, knocking several people to the ground. The video shows the police officer revving the engine, trying to get a protester off the vehicle before pressing on the gas and accelerating through the crowd.

Here’s the video.

Now they know, don’t block an emergency vehicle, especially when it’s en route to an emergency. These jackwagons who blocked the officer’s lawful travel and climbed on the hood of a police vehicle should be arrested and prosecuted. Enough is enough, it’s time to restore law and order.

Daily Caller:

Detroit police SUV drove into a crowd of protesters Sunday evening after they surrounded the car, according to video of the incident shared on Twitter.

The car briefly accelerated into the crowd of approximately 15 people before stopping, sending some protesters onto the ground and the hood of the car, the video showed. Once stopped, it accelerated with people still on its hood, according to the video posted to Twitter by activist Ethan Ketner.

Protesters can be heard screaming as they chase the car. The incident sent multiple protesters to the hospital, according to Ketner.

Jae Bass, who claims he was one of the protesters thrown from the car, said that he had originally stood in front of the police vehicle to separate the car from the other protesters.

“In response to that, he just floored it,” Bass told the Detroit Free PressMore

Chief Craig addresses the media regarding the incident that took place involving officers and protesters. The protesters attacked the police cars and here’s the video evidence.

The minute they surrounded that car they were no longer peaceful. The cop did what he needed to do to protect himself.

The pertinent question that must be answered if we are to survive as a civilized society. Does someone, either individually or as part of a group have the right to arbitrarily block another person(s) right to freedom of travel? When a car is chased and aggressively blocked by protesters who in many cases are physically damaging the vehicle and trying to bust windows to gain access to passengers; is fear a rational response? I believe it is.

Cop Exposes How ‘Defund Police’ Protesters Demanded Police Protection

Oh, the irony!

‘Defund the Police’ protesters have asked for a police presence at their scheduled event. In a short 30-second video posted to social media, Officer Sam Lopez explains: “So, I come in this morning and we’re informed there’s going to be a protest to ‘Defund the Police.’ Well, that’s fine. I like protests. Except for – they requested a police presence, you know, for their safety at the ‘Defund the Police’ event. I sh** you not.”

Brainwashed: Nearly Half of Americans Polled Think Police Brutality is a ‘Serious Problem’

By the numbers, there is no police brutality problem. But liars in the media seem to have convinced half of America that it is out of control.

By the numbers, there is no police brutality problem. But liars in the media and the Democrat Party now seem to have convinced half of America that it is out of control.

A new poll finds that public opinion has turned sharply against police in America.

The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey found that 48% of Americans think police violence is a “very” or “extremely” serious problem. In 2015 that number was only 31 percent.

Even more Americans believe the false claim that cops are more apt to kill black men.

The poll found that 61 percent of respondents felt that cops target blacks. That is up from 49 percent in 2015.

Also, 65 percent say police officers that cause harm to someone get off too easily. That is up from 41 percent in the previous poll.

The problem is, all the claims that police target blacks. kill blacks or are more violent toward blacks is false.

Statistics show that the opposite is true.

As Heather Mac Donald recently reported, there are roughly 375 million interactions between the police and the citizenry every year. And yet, in 2019, only 1,004 people were shot and killed by police. That is a infinitesimal number and it proves that cops are not killing black men every day like the liars in the domestic terrorist outfit Black Lives Matter claim.

Per Mac Donald:

In 2019 police officers fatally shot 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise dangerous. African-Americans were about a quarter of those killed by cops last year (235), a ratio that has remained stable since 2015. That share of black victims is less than what the black crime rate would predict, since police shootings are a function of how often officers encounter armed and violent suspects. In 2018, the latest year for which such data have been published, African-Americans made up 53% of known homicide offenders in the U.S. and commit about 60% of robberies, though they are 13% of the population.

The police fatally shot nine unarmed blacks and 19 unarmed whites in 2019, according to a Washington Post database, down from 38 and 32, respectively, in 2015. The Post defines “unarmed” broadly to include such cases as a suspect in Newark, N.J., who had a loaded handgun in his car during a police chase. In 2018 there were 7,407 black homicide victims. Assuming a comparable number of victims last year, those nine unarmed black victims of police shootings represent 0.1% of all African-Americans killed in 2019. By contrast, a police officer is 18½ times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.

So, what this AP poll gives us is not proof that the police have run amuck, but proof that the media has succeeded in pushing lies so long that people, now believe them.

Body-Cam Footage: Officer Who Shot Brooks Begs Him To Stay Alive As He Desperately Administered CPR

The fired officer who shot Rayshard Brooks dead begged the father-of-four to stay alive as he desperately administered CPR, bodycam footage reveals. “Keep breathing for me.”

The jerky bodycam footage captures him kneeling on the ground and administering CPR to the bleeding man while Brosnan looks on. Rolfe administered CPR until the ambulance arrived and can be heard repeatedly calling Mr. Brooks’ name as he tried to keep him alive.

While performing CPR, former Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe begged for Rayshard Brooks to “keep breathing,” body camera footage reveals.

“Mr. Brooks, keep breathing,” Rolfe, 27, can be heard saying in the footage. “Keep breathing for me.”

“The jerky body-cam footage captures him kneeling on the ground and administering CPR to the bleeding man while Brosnan looks on,” reports the Daily Mail, which published the footage. “Rolfe administered CPR until the ambulance arrived and can be heard repeatedly calling Mr. Brooks’ name as he tried to keep him alive.”

On Friday, a Wendy’s employee called the police after Brooks, under the influence of alcohol, passed out behind the wheel, blocking drive-through traffic.

“The officers ran Brooks through a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer that pegged Brooks’ blood alcohol concentration at .108%, according to body cam footage released by the Atlanta police department. The legal limit to drive is .08%,” The Daily Wire reported on the incident. “After cooperating for nearly half an hour, Brooks fought with the officers as they tried to place him in handcuffs. All three struggled and fell to the ground where Brooks managed to take Brosnan’s taser and escape the officers. Rolfe shot after Brooks fired the stolen taser at him.” More

More evidence that this officer is a good man with a good heart. The media, the DA, and the mayor have completely destroyed a good man and his entire family. Rayshard Brooks was intoxicated, served time for abusing his children, was resisting arrest, plus he trying to taser the police! It was justified shooting.

Leftist Logic: Atlanta DA Says Tasers are Deadly Weapons in Cops’ Hands, But Not Deadly when Used Against Cops?

Atlanta’s DA ruled that a taser is a “deadly weapon” when he wanted to prosecute a cop, but declared tasers are not deadly only two weeks later.

Atlanta’s extremist, left-wing District Attorney ruled that a taser is a “deadly weapon” when he wanted to prosecute a cop, but only two weeks later he turned around and declared tasers are not deadly weapons after Rayshard Brooks used one against a police officer.

These are the lies that leftist “prosecutors” push when they have sold out to an agenda instead of when they are basing their actions on the actual law.

No wonder Atlanta’s police force is walking off the job en masse!

This week, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced felony murder charges against officer Garrett Rolfe, the Atlanta police officer who shot and killed Brooks on June 12.

You may recall that the officers pulled up on Rayshard Brooks because he had fallen asleep in his running car in a Wendy’s drive-thru. They had a long conversation with him, and after backup was called, they informed Brooks that he was going to be arrested for drunk driving. Brooks then suddenly turned violent and eventually took possession of a police stun gun which he then fired at the officers. At that point, officer Rolfe drew his weapon, fired, and killed Brooks.

Despite the video showing Brooks turning violent, as far as DA Howard was concerned, officer Rolfe did not have a legal basis to kill Brooks because Brooks “never presented himself as a threat” and “never displayed any aggressive behavior.”

But this idiot went even farther in his false claims against officer Rolfe. Brooks said that Rolfe should not have fired his service weapon because the stun gun Brooks had turned against the officers was “not a deadly weapon.”

This proclamation is clearly a false claim because Georgia law defines tasers specifically as deadly weapons.

But it gets worse. Just two weeks ago, in another case where DA Howard was trying to destroy a cop’s life, he specifically stated that a taser is a deadly weapon. He said so during a press conference on June 3:

So, this sold-out, agenda-driven, pitiful excuse for a lawman is all in for calling tasers “deadly weapons” when in the hands of a cop, but when they are used against a cop, suddenly tasers are harmless.

This is why liberals are all liars who will do anything and say anything to push their political agenda.

Liberals are 100 percent lawless.

DA Charges Cop Who Killed Atl Man With Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, 9 Other Charges

DA Charges Cop Who Killed Atl Man With Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, 9 Other Charges

A DA’s office in Atlanta announced 11 charges against Officer Garrett Rolfe, the Atlanta police officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks last week, including felony murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Rayshard Brooks, 27, was shot dead on Friday night after police were called to the restaurant over reports that he had passed out in the drive-through line. He resisted arrest, fought with the police, took one of their weapons, attempted to use it.

The Atlanta Police officer who shot and killed Rayshard Brooks at a Wendy’s parking lot last week was charged with felony murder and other charges, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced Wednesday.

The other police officer on scene also faces three charges, including aggravated assault, Howard said.

The decision comes just five days after Brooks was shot twice in the back in Atlanta during an attempted arrest. Officer Garrett Rolfe, who fired the fatal shots, has already been fired, and officer Devin Brosnan, who was also on scene, has been put on administrative duty.

After shooting Brooks, Rolfe said “I got him” and kicked Brooks, and Brosnan then stood on Brooks’ shoulder, Howard said. The officers did not provide medical aid to Brooks for over two minutes after shooting him, Howard said.
Their demeanor after the shooting “did not reflect any fear or danger of Mr. Brooks, but reflected other kinds of emotions,” Howard said. More

This same DA charged two other cops for using a taser multiple times on some college kids. That indictment said a taser was a deadly weapon. Cops are trained to use force one level up from force being used against them.
