School Officials Try to Ban American Flags from Students’ Vehicles

Published

on

Peyton Robinson had flown his 4-foot by 6-foot American flag and a POW-MIA flag in the back of his pickup last year as well as a month this year, and no one said anything about them. Then, a few days ago, an official at South Carolina’s York Comprehensive High where Peyton attends instructed him to remove the flags, because the school had gotten some “complaints” about them, and since they don’t want to offend those complainers, their only recourse was to offend the offending person by telling him to stop being so patriotic. Peyton was told to remove his flags when he got home that day and never to bring them back on school property. During that day while Peyton was in class, the official went out and confiscated the flags.
Well, being a good Southern boy, he wasn’t about to let that one slide. He recounted the situation on Facebook, which got a bunch of other students and parents riled up. Breitbart reported:

CBS News reports that Robinson was angered over the incident, because he “has several family members who served in the armed forces.”

On May 14, parents and veterans rallied outside the school, flying their own flags in outrage. WBTV 3 reports that York Comprehensive administrators decided their policy might not be best, and they announced that Robinson can fly his flags if he so chooses.

Just before noon, the school district posted the following announcement on its website:

“Due to the outstanding display of patriotism through peaceful demonstration, it is apparent to us that many are not happy about this policy. School officials have reviewed the standing policy regarding flags and have decided that an exception will be made for the American flag, as long as the size of the flag(s) does not create a driving hazard.”

Robinson admitted he was “pretty angry” when initially told to take the flags down. He said of himself, “Just proud to be an American.”

Officials changed their tune about why they wanted Robinson to remove his flags. Robinson said that there were complaints about them, and since the school didn’t want anyone offended by the flags, he was told to remove them. Now, they’re saying that Robinson was told to remove them because it was a “driving hazard.” Why do they care about it being a driving hazard? Are they the police now?
Frankly, it’s a little surprising that they changed their mind about the flags and made an exception for the American flag. I halfway expected them to make an exception only for the Mexican flag. That would of course be offensive, but only to white conservatives, and no one cares about them.

Teacher Threatens Boy to Remove Trump Flag from Bedroom Wall During Online Class

A leftist Virginia high school teacher was enraged when she saw a Trump 2020 flag hanging on a student’s bedroom wall during an e-learning session.

A leftist Virginia high school teacher was enraged when she saw a Trump 2020 flag hanging on a student’s bedroom wall during an e-learning session online and demanded he remove it or be kicked out of her online class.

A 16-year-old student was attending the online class for Colusa High School in his bedroom where he has a campaign flag for Donald Trump’s reelection campaign hanging on the wall. But once his teacher saw the flag, she demanded that he remove it or be removed from the class. The boy refused, according to CBS13.

The teen’s mother, Tiffany (the rest of the names are not being reported to protect the teenager) said that her son told her his teacher scolded him during the e-learning session.

“You can sit up, remove the flag, or reposition your camera within the next 15 seconds or I’m kicking you out of class,” the teacher reportedly said.

The woman then began counting. Tiffany said her son didn’t wait for the teacher to stop counting and he turned off the computer on his own.

The boy’s mother explained that he has had the flag on his wall for months.

Still, the mother says she doesn’t blame the teacher because this is all so new to everyone.

Tiffany notes that the school dress codes do not prohibit political messages on clothing, and there is no guidance at all for what should be going on during the virtual classrooms. She blames the school board for its lack of leadership.

The teacher has since apologized for her demands that the boy remove the flag from his own bedroom wall.

Regardless, no teacher has any right to tell anyone what they should have in their own homes.

High School Students Suspended for Daring to Wave Pro-Police Flag Get Scholarships

The two Ohio high school football players where were suspended for daring to wave a set of pro-police flags have won themselves college scholarships.

The two Ohio high school football players where were suspended for daring to wave a set of pro-police flags have won themselves college scholarships.

Two weeks ago, Jarad Bentley and Brady Wilson of Little Miami High School were suspended for taking “Thin Blue Line” and a “Thin Red Line” flags onto the football field as a tribute to first responders during the school’s Sept. 11 Remembrance Day.

To be sure, the boys asked permission ahead of time and were denied — but they did it anyway. And the school suspended them for defying the ban on the flags. Initially they were “suspended indefinitely” for taking the flags on the field.

“Little Miami is saddened to see this story take such a negative turn. While we understand these students’ desire (to) show their support of first responders, they did not obtain permission from district officials. Administrators must act when students break the rules,” the school said in a statement according to Fox 19.

“The Patriot Night program to memorialize the victims of 9/11 was already part of our pre-game ceremonies on Friday, and the American flag is the first thing through the tunnel every Friday night. Little Miami enjoys an outstanding relationship with local first police and fire agencies, and a Little Miami school resource officer is also a high school football coach,” the school continued.

“Little Miami always has – and always will – support our first responders, our veterans, and all who sacrifice to maintain our freedoms,” they wrote.

But after a petition was launched demanding that the school reverse its suspension, the school district relented and let the boys return to school.

Now the boys have earned a pair of full scholarships for their patriotism.

“A local group called Holiday for Heroes is awarding scholarships to the two Little Miami teens who were briefly suspended from the high school football team for carrying two flags onto the field when the district said they were told not to,” WKRC reported.

“Brady and Jarad are true PATRIOTS, they did something last Friday that showed they are far beyond their years. These men stood up for a cause they believe in. As they took the field with flags in hand it reminded us how we felt 19 years ago, heartbroken yet strong and united,” the group said in a press release.

House Republicans Introduce Bill To Defund Schools Teaching Fake 1619 Project Agenda

With the steady advance of the anti-American 1619 Project though our schools, House of Republicans have introduced a bill to defund schools that teach it.

Published

With the steady advance of the anti-American 1619 Project though our schools, the Republicans in the House of Representatives have introduced a bill to defund schools that teach the fake, left-wing agenda instead of real history.

Colorado Rep. Ken Buck and Georgia Rep. Rick Allen filed the bill on Friday to serve as companion legislation introduced in July in the U.S. Senate by Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton.

“The 1619 Project teaches children a historically inaccurate account of our nation’s history,” Buck said in a Thursday press release. “Federal funding should not go towards schools that teach flawed and inaccurate curriculum in classrooms. We should be able to acknowledge the stains on our nation’s history while still continuing to celebrate the good our country has done.”

Co-sponsor Rep. Allen, continued saying, “The 1619 Project’s goal is to indoctrinate the idea in our nation’s young people that America is an evil country – which is far from the truth. Though our history is not perfect, we have overcome our challenges to create a land of opportunity for all. If we want to fight injustice and work toward a more perfect union, we must learn from our past and teach our students to do better – not teach false history. This legislation will ensure federal education funding is going towards truthful and historically accurate curriculum.”

“The New York Times’ 1619 Project is a racially divisive, revisionist account of history that denies the noble principles of freedom and equality on which our nation was founded. Not a single cent of federal funding should go to indoctrinate young Americans with this left-wing garbage,” Sen. Cotton said.

Rep. Buck’s statement added:

More than 4,500 school districts across the country have begun teaching history curricula based on the New York Times’ flawed and historically inaccurate 1619 Project. This progressive project elevates revisionist history despite multiple prominent historians pointing out numerous factual inaccuracies contained in the 1619 Project’s curriculum.

The federal government has a strong and clear interest to ensure federal education dollars are used to provide our children with an accurate accounting of our nation’s history, not to promote inaccurate curricula like the New York Times’ 1619 Project.

Delicious: After Admitting Its ‘Racism’ Feds Say Princeton Can Lose Federal Funding for Violating Civil Rights Act

This is fantastic: Last week Princeton University “admitted” that it is steeped in “racism.” Now the Depart. of Education says that the school could lose its funding

Published

Oh, this is fantastic: Last week Princeton University “admitted” that it is steeped in “racism.” Now the Depart. of Education says that the school could lose its funding for violating the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

On Sept. 2, President Christopher Eisgruber published an open letter claiming that “racism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton” and that “racist assumptions” are “embedded in structures of the University itself.”

But now, the Dept. of Education says that if Princeton is admitting that it is rife with racism, then it has violated the law and should lose all its federal support.

Now, that right there is some just desserts for the stupidity of leftist virtue signaling.

The Washington Examiner has the exclusive:

Now, the Education Department has sent a formal records request as it pursues its investigation. Its main point of contention is whether Princeton has lied to the public with its marketing and to the department in its promise not to uphold racist standards, in accordance with receiving federal funds.

“Based on its admitted racism, the U.S. Department of Education (“Department”) is concerned Princeton’s nondiscrimination and equal opportunity assurances in its Program Participation Agreements from at least 2013 to the present may have been false,” the letter reads. “The Department is further concerned Princeton perhaps knew, or should have known, these assurances were false at the time they were made. Finally, the Department is further concerned Princeton’s many nondiscrimination and equal opportunity claims to students, parents, and consumers in the market for education certificates may have been false, misleading, and actionable substantial misrepresentations in violation of 20 U.S.C. § 1094(c)(3)(B) and 34 CFR 668.71(c). Therefore, the Department’s Office of Postsecondary Education, in consultation with the Department’s Office of the General Counsel, is opening this investigation.”

The DOE wants to see the evidence upon which Princeton based its claim of endemic racism. And it if is real, then the school is in quite a bit of trouble with the feds.

Of course, we all know that there is no such evidence. And what will end up happening is that Princeton will be outed for perpetrating foolish wokeism instead of engaging in factual determinations.

The school will end up with egg on its face no matter what it does with this one.

Fools.

Washington and Lee University Defends Class Teaching How to Perform Marxist Overthrow of the U.S.A.

Washington and Lee University is defending its class teaching students how to perform a Marxist overthrow of the United States.

Published

on

Washington and Lee University is defending its class teaching students how to perform a Marxist overthrow of the United States.

The university has been sponsoring its course, “How to Overthrow the Government,” but now the class is raising hackles.

In the course, students learn how to write communist manifestos, how to organize a resistance, and how to rise up to destroy the state.

The description of the class says: “This course places each student at the head of a popular revolutionary movement aiming to overthrow a sitting government and forge a better society.”

“How will you attain power? How will you communicate with the masses? How do you plan on improving the lives of the people? How will you deal with the past? From Frantz Fanon to Che Guevara to Mohandas Gandhi and others, we explore examples of revolutionary thought and action from across the Global South,” the course description adds.

The university defended the course saying the class is only a creative writing course meant to help students expand their writing capabilities.

But former House Speaker Newt Gingrich excoriated the school for the anti-American course.

“Washington and Lee University’s course on “how to overthrow the state” is one further sign of the insanity taking over higher education. The alumni should rise up and show how to overthrow a crazy college administration,” Gingrich said.

In another tweet, Gingrich said, “The progressive left’s influence over academia is real. According to the university’s website, a course at Washington and Lee University for the fall semester focuses on encouraging students to “overthrow a sitting government.”

Washington and Lee president Will Dudley attacked those complaining about the course saying the complaints “distorted, sensationalized, and turned into political fodder on blogs, television, and social media.”

“What better way to teach the power of writing — the idea that the pen is mightier than the sword — than to ask students to read and evaluate historical texts that aspired to move their original audiences to revolution?” the anti-American ignoramus insisted.

THIS is what our colleges are teaching our students.

THIS is what you parents are spending tens of thousands on.

Colorado School Suspends 12-Yr-Old for Picking Up Toy Gun During E-Learning Session

A Colorado grade school suspended a seventh-grade boy because he picked up a plastic toy gun in his home during a recent Internet class session, reports say.

Worse, the school called the police on the little boy when a leftist teacher saw him fiddling with the toy gun, Buzzfeed reported.

Isaiah Elliott, a seventh-grade student at Grand Mountain School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was taking part in his online art class on August 27 when he began goofing around with a neon green toy gun moving it across the screen before putting it back down.

The boy’s mother reported getting an email from the school saying that her son was “distracted” during the class work. Isaiah has ADHD — and the school is well aware of that fact.

But the leftist teacher also claimed that Isaiah was “waving a gun around” and that she reported the incident to the school’s vice principal.

The boy’s mother got a call from the vice principal who warned the woman that the police were on the way to her house of the “gun.”

“I had already explained to the teacher that it was a toy,” she said. “I told [the vice principal] that it was a toy. She admitted that she knew it was a toy, but Isaiah’s safety was of the utmost importance.”

The boy’s mother was flabbergasted that playing with a toy in his own home was suddenly a crime.

“How do I protect my son, what do I have him do [when] playing with a toy in the privacy of your own home is a threat?” she said.

Next, the morons at the school suspended the boy. For a toy. In his own home.

The school insisted that the punishment is appropriate because the child “displayed and waved a firearm facsimile during a virtual classroom.”

The school put out a statement on the suspension:

We understand there are many questions regarding an incident that took place during distance learning. There are also several inaccuracies being spread on social media. While we cannot get into details due to privacy laws, we want to clear up a few misconceptions. We never have or ever will condone any form of racism or discrimination. Safety will always be number one for our students and staff. We follow board policies and safety protocols consistently, whether we are in-person or distance learning. We utilize our School Resource Officers, who are trusted and trained professionals who work in our schools with our children, to ensure safety. The platforms we use for distance learning have the feature to record classes for educational purposes. During our first week of school, we were still becoming familiar with the platform. It is not our current practice to record classes at this time. Parents will be notified if that changes. We will continue to support all families in our school to make sure they feel safe, respected, and educated. Isaiah’s official notice of suspension, which Elliott provided to BuzzFeed News, said that he was guilty of “violation of district or building policies or procedures” and “behavior on or off school property which is detrimental to the welfare, safety, or morals of other pupils or school personnel.”

Los Angeles Teacher Criticized for Wearing Anti-Police ‘Blue Lives Murder’ Shirt

United Teachers Los Angeles was hit with a backlash after one of the group’s board members was seen wearing a shirt accusing cops of being murderers.

Published

on

United Teachers Los Angeles, the union that represents teachers in the area, was hit with a backlash after one of the group’s board members was seen wearing a shirt accusing cops of being murderers.

A photo of UTLA Secondary VP, Julie Van Winkle was posted Wednesday as the UTLA encouraged members to wear Black Lives Matter shirts to support a teacher who received death threats after wearing a shirt with the slogan “I Can’t Breathe” on it, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Some parents were very unhappy to see a member of the educational establishment wearing such a hateful shirt.

“My initial reaction was that I didn’t think I had read it right, but then I realized that it really did say, ‘Blue Lives Murder,'” said Niki Lopez, a mother of two LAUSD students, CBS reported.

Lopez, who is the daughter of an L.A. Police officer and is also married to a cop, found the shirt “hateful.”

“It’s so hateful, and it’s so negative about police officers in general,” Lopez said. “And just kind of making a blanket statement about them all being murderers.”

Lopez also wondered why the teachers union would even re-post the hate-filled photo.

“And I just don’t think it’s right,” Lopez said. “As an educator, I think that you need to think of all students and how you present yourself and how it affects all students, and I just don’t think that this was done in that case.”

Van Winkle later tried to walk back the photo of her shirt.

“I posted a picture of myself wearing a shirt with a message that does not reflect the views of UTLA. That post and my personal post have both been removed. I apologize for this and for distracting from the real work that needs to happen. We need to bring attention to what really matters — fighting for Black lives in our schools and in our communities,” she wrote in a statement.

The Los Angeles Police Protective League was also less than amused by the teacher’s shirt. “We’re taking the issue of improving policing seriously while some stand on the sidelines looking to stoke fires, create division,” the union said.
