Don’t expect the U.N.’s Human Rights Panel to be much interested in human rights after the organization put one of the most oppressive, dictatorial nations on earth on the panel.

According to UN Watch:

China was appointed on Wednesday to a United Nations Human Rights Council panel where it will play a key role in picking the world body’s human rights investigators — including global monitors on freedom of speech, health, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary detention — in a move that has sparked protest by international human rights activists.

The watchdog group added:

“Allowing China’s oppressive and inhumane regime to choose the world investigators on freedom of speech, arbitrary detention and enforced disappearances is like making a pyromaniac into the town fire chief,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, a non-governmental human rights organization based in Geneva that closely monitors the 47-nation UN Human Rights Council, and a leader in speaking out at the UN for victims in China.

“It’s absurd and immoral for the UN to allow China’s oppressive government a key role in selecting officials who shape international human rights standards and report on violations worldwide,” said Neuer.

Of course, China is one of the most oppressive nations in the world and has for over 50 years arrested, tortured, and murdered Christians, Muslims, Jews, and anyone else that dares to become a believer.

While American liberals now seem to feel that China is their best friend, the communist giant certainly goes against the American left’s principles.

For instance, according to the Lancet, China, home to one of the largest LGBTQ populations in the world, commits serious persecution and discrimination against gays. Not only does government take harsh action, Chinese society takes harsh action against gays. LGBTQ children even face serious oppression and abuse by parents, while Chinese authorities turn a blind eye.

This is the nation that the U.N. thinks deserves a seat on a human rights panel.

It’s all just another example of why the U.N. should be disbanded.

U.N. Chief Calls for ‘Global Government’ to Wipe Out ‘National Interests’

The world needs a one-world system of government to eliminate “national interests,” according to U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The world needs a one-world system of government that can eliminate problematic “national interests,” according to U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who was lamenting existing U.N. instruments such as the Security Council may have teeth but “show little or no appetite to bite.”

Guterres made his dangerous suggestion on Thursday as the U.N. commemorates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the U.N. Charter.

As far as the Secretary General is concerned, the world needs to “re-imagine the way nations cooperate.”

“We need a networked multilateralism, bringing together the U.N. system, regional organizations, international financial institutions and others. And we need an inclusive multilateralism, drawing on the indispensable contributions of civil society, business, cities, regions and, in particular, with greater weight given to the voices of youth,” Guterres said at a Thursday press conference.

Guterres added that countries need to be prevented from having political poser and, “we need an effective multilateralism that can function as an instrument of global governance where it is needed.”

As Breitbart News reported:

“The problem is that today’s multilateralism lacks scale, ambition and teeth. And some of the instruments that do have teeth, show little or no appetite to bite, as has recently been the case with the difficulties faced by the Security Council,” he said.

In response to questions as to exactly what the U.N. has achieved over three-quarters of a century, Guterres said, “at least the Third World War so many people have predicted was avoided.

“We had what many called the ‘long peace’ with many small conflicts, but conflicts in which the big powers did not get involved against each other.”

Here’s a better idea, let’s stop giving the U.S. any money and tell it to get the hell out of our country.

Let the U.N. sponge off some other country.
