NBA Appears Hypocritical In Criticism of Trump and Americans While Ignoring Glaring Human Rights Abuses in China

Last weekend’s apology to China shows that the NBA is quick to attack Americans while turning a blind eye to China’s serious human rights abuses.

Published

on

The National Basketball Association considers itself one of the most “progressive” organizations in America and is always ready to criticize President Donald Trump or other Americans who members of the league think are not woke enough. But last weekend’s apology to China shows that the NBA is quick to attack Americans while turning a blind eye to China’s serious human rights abuses.

Over the weekend, the NBA rebuked Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey who tweeted his support of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong. The league apologized to the oppressive Chinese government for Morey’s support of the democracy activists.

But according to a recent report at Human Rights Watch, China is still one of the worst abusers of human rights in the world. In its 2018 report, the organization reported that China has “dramatically stepped up repression and systematic abuses against the 13 million Turkic Muslims, including Uyghurs and ethnic Kazakhs, in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region.”

“Authorities have carried out mass arbitrary detention, torture, and mistreatment of some of them in various detention facilities, and increasingly imposed pervasive controls on daily life,” HRW wrote. “New regulations in Tibet now criminalize even traditional forms of social action, including community mediation by religious figures. In Hong Kong, a region promised ‘a high degree of autonomy’ under the Sino-British Joint Declaration, the Chinese and Hong Kong governments hastened their efforts in 2018 to undermine people’s rights to free speech and political participation.”

Trending: Army Officer Who Knew Him Says Lt. Col. Vindman Has History of Anti-American Behavior

HRW also reiterated China’s oppression of its homosexual citizens, refugees, asylum seekers, women, and girls, and that is not to even mention its actions against Tibet.

This is the country that the NBA is falling all over itself to support.

But the woke members of the NBA has been very quick to attack Americans who they think aren’t woke enough. Especially when they feel that they can safely attack such people without hurting their financial bottom line.

For instance, when NBA player Jason Collins came out as gay in 2013, the whole NBA was effusive in its praise of the player. Stars from Kobe Bryant to Kirk Gibson jumped to praise Collins for his bravery for coming out.

In another case, in 2016, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich — an outspoken leftist and critic of President Donald Trump — attacked the Trump administration for what Popovich insisted was Trump’s “bullying of gays and minorities.”

It was right after Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, and Popovich was livid.

“Not basically because the Republicans won or anything, but the disgusting tenure and tone and all the comments that have been xenophobic, homophobic, racist, misogynistic,” Popovich exploded. “I live in that country where half the people ignored all that to elect someone. That’s the scariest part of the whole thing to me.”

Then in 2017, Warriors coach Steve Kerr and his team hosted an “LGBTQ Pride Night,” to “educate kids” about gay rights.

But according to the Lancet, China, home to one of the largest LGBTQ populations in the world, commits serious persecution and discrimination against gays. Not only does government take harsh action, Chinese society takes harsh action against gays. LGBTQ children even face serious oppression and abuse by parents, while Chinese authorities turn a blind eye.

Despite China’s abuse of its LGBTQ citizens, the woke NBA has been utterly silent about the mistreatment of gays in the country the league is courting for big dollars.

Attorney for Colin Kaepernick Admits Upcoming ‘Workout’ is ‘Manufactured Stunt’

What exactly has the NFL gotten themselves into?

Published

on

The NFL has certainly had its share of problems over the course of the last few years, much of which can be traced back to the purposefully offensive actions of Colin Kaepernick.

The former second string quarterback, in an effort to raise awareness about a vague claim of “inequality” he saw within the nation at large, began taking a knee during the National Anthem – a maneuver that was meant to anger a wide swath of the nation.

When the NFL refused to take action, they began a long, downward spiral that left 2019’s season on the brink of disaster.  Empty seats, horrific ratings…you name it.

Now, in a curiously-timed move, Kaepernick and the NFL are about to hold a “practice” together as the former NFL QB continues to hunt for another job in the league.

Even Kaepernick’s attorney has his doubts about the true intent, however.

Mark Geragos, Kaepernick’s attorney, told “Good Morning America” Friday, “The whole thing seems to me to be a manufactured stunt, for lack of a better term.”

The NFL said in a statement to “Good Morning America,” “We are looking forward to Saturday’s workout with Colin.”

Despite leading the 49ers to the 2013 Super Bowl, Kaepernick has not been signed to a team since the end of the 2016 regular season, when he opted out of his deal with the 49ers, becoming a free agent.

Kaepernick, who has been vocal about his desire to return to the NFL, filed a grievance against league owners in 2017, alleging they colluded to ensure he remains unsigned. The lawsuit was settled in February.

Kaepernick became the expensive face of a vague social justice campaign by sponsor Nike, despite no longer playing in the NFL – a transnational move by the shoe company that backfired wildly when social media users reminded the world that Nike exploits lax Chinese labor laws and sweatshops to manufacture their expensive sneakers.

NBA Sides with Oppressive Chinese Government Over Hong Kong Pro-Democracy Protesters

The National Basketball Association proved once again how anti-American it is by jumping to support the world’s worst, most oppressive, communist government

Published

on

The National Basketball Association proved once again how anti-American it is by jumping to support the world’s worst, most oppressive, communist government this weekend, after Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted his support for pro-democracy demonstrators in Hong Kong.

You read that right. The NBA rebuked one of its own for supporting pro-democracy forces in Hong Kong. The NBA, the supposedly woke sports league that claims to fight for the oppressed have sided with the most oppressive government on the planet. The NBA is no longer an American sport.

Over the weekend, Daryl Morey tweeted “Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong,” siding with the pro-democracy forces facing down Chinese security forces that have been flooding into Hong Kong from Mainland China.

But the pro-democracy tweet brought immediate rebuke from officials in the NBA and even from Morey’s own team. Morey soon deleted the tweet and felt forced to apologize.

“I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China,” Morey insisted.

Regardless, the league quickly pushed out a statement slapping Morey down and cosying up to their friends in China.

We recognize that the views expressed by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have deeply offended many of our friends and fans in China, which is regrettable. While Daryl has made it clear that his tweet does not represent the Rockets or the NBA, the values of the league support individuals’ educating themselves and sharing their views on matters important to them. We have great respect for the history and culture of China and hope that sports and the NBA can be used as a unifying force to bridge cultural divides and bring people together

This is the same league that canceled games in North Carolina because the Tar Heel state had a “human rights abusing” transgender bathroom law. But they seem to have no problem with China, one of the most oppressive nations in the world with one of the worst human rights records of any modern nation.

Maybe it’s all because of the money the NBA is making as it tries to expand into foreign markets?

The repercussions of Morey’s tweet and the NBA’s response have been reverberating all across the league.

Immediately, the Rockets began pushing out rumors that Morey could even be fired for daring to support the democracy movement in Hong Kong, though the NBA, at least, said there will be no official action taken against the GM for his tweet.

Even a member of Morey’s own team quickly jumped up to criticize him.

Woke NBA player James Harden loudly berated his GM for the tweet, and while in Tokyo, he groveled before the Chinese.

“We apologize. We love China,” Harden said, with Rockets guard Russell Westbrook. “We love playing there. Both of us, we go there once or twice a year. They show us most support so we appreciate them.”

The Chinese basketball association also jumped into action and officially cut ties with the Houston Rockets.

Outkick the Coverage’s Clay Travis wondered if some of the NBA’s most “woke” would respond:

Travis also wondered is super woke ESPN, which is broadcasting from China this week, will side with democracy or with oppressors:

But while the NBA seems prepared to side with human rights abusers in China, a bi-partisan group of politicians do not, including pols who usually stand on the opposite side of the issues, such as Ted Cruz and Eric Swalwell.

Senator Ben Sasse (R, Neb) also took a stick to the NBA saying the league’s shameful apology for Morey’s tweet puts the concerns of the oppressive Chinese government and the NBA’s lust for money ahead of democracy for Hong Kong.

“Basketball fans and the American people more broadly should have absolutely no doubt about what is happening here: The NBA wants money, and the Communist Party of China is asking them to deny the most basic of human rights. In response, the NBA issued a statement saying money is the most important thing,” Sasse said in a statement on Monday morning.

Portland sports fans boo armed service members on 9/11

Only in Portland…

Published

on

The liberal left has turned implosive and toxic in the Trump era, as their resistance rhetoric has mutated into an anti-American screed.

The diversity of opinion is much of what makes our nation strong.  The First Amendment is a freedom unlike any before it, allowing the citizens of a nation to powerfully impact their governance for the common good, and, often, that is precisely what occurs.

But as the democratic left in the United States continues to radicalize, the flailing and frenzied pace at which they attempt to derail their political opponents has put them at odds with everyone – including Lady Liberty herself.

A disheartening example of this ridiculous “resistance” was on display in Portland, Oregon this week, as sports fans booed members of the United States military as they pledged their loyalty to the Commander in Chief.

Worse still, the abysmal aggression occurred on the 18th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Fans at a National Women’s Soccer League game rained down boos during a U.S. Armed Forces swearing-in ceremony Wednesday after the enlistees were asked to pledge they would obey the orders of President Trump.

The ceremony took place at Providence Park in Portland, Ore., while the Portland Thorns were facing the North Carolina Courage. The event was scheduled ahead of the 2019 season when the club discovered it would be playing on Sept. 11, according to The Oregonian.

The crowd applauded the group after it took the Oath of Enlistment but booed when the enlistees were asked to “obey the orders of the President of the United States.”

Portland has become a hotbed of political controversy in recent months, after radical leftists aligned with Antifa savagely attacked conservative journalist Andy Ngo while he was covering dueling protests in the city.

Just days ago, supporters of the city’s MLS franchise, the Portland Timbers, planned a silent protest after the league disallowed the fans to fly a modified version of the “Iron Front” flag – a favorite of Antifa.  The MLS rules state that no team’s supporters shall display flags of any political persuasion at any time.

Betsy Ross flag deemed symbol of ‘hate’ by American professional sports league

Published

on

History revisionism is running amok in the 21st century, with no end in sight to the madness.

We, as human beings, are constantly evolving our culture and our society as we become ever-more aware of our past-tense trespasses against one another.

For millennia we believed that slavery was okay, based on vile and dehumanizing racist ideals.  We locked whole swaths of mankind in shackles, forced them to complete our every command, and did so with near impunity.  The pyramids, the Parthenon, and the plantation were all created under these abhorrent auspices.

But we learned.  It took far, far too long, but we have eradicated nearly all of the planet’s institutional slavery through understanding, advocacy, and empathy.

How to approach the legacy of slavery is something that has been debated for decades upon decades in America.  We must continually expose the horrors of the practice in order to refrain from watering its deep-seated, hateful roots, but where is that line drawn?  For some, the knife’s edge lies with Thomas Jefferson or the Civil War.  For others, however, it lies within almost anything that existed at the time of slavery, including the Betsy Ross flag.

The flag, featuring the iconic circle of thirteen stars representing the original 13 colonies, came under attack earlier this year after politically-involved footballer Colin Kaepernick decried Nike’s proposed use of the flag on a special edition sneaker.  His complaint was that the flag simply existed at a time in which Americans owned slaves.

Now, on the heels of this controversy, (no pun intended), America’s Major League Soccer is banning the display of the flag at its matches, believing that this version of the American flag is “hate speech”.

America’s premier soccer league, Major League Soccer, has declared the red, white, and blue Betsy Ross flag a “symbol for hate groups” and banned a couple in Utah from waving it at games.

A Utah couple who were in attendance at a Major League Soccer Real Salt Lake game says they were told by stadium officials to put away their Betsy Ross flag because the original flag of the American Revolution is a “symbol for hate groups.”

According to Randolf and Diana Scott, the league now claims that the flag, one of America’s earliest national banners, has been adopted by “hate groups,” according to Fox News.

Members of the Real Salt Lake front office also parroted that bizarre sentiment.

“Recently, and very controversially as well as surprising to us, the Colonial flag has been adopted as a symbol for hate groups,” Real Salt Lake Chief Business Officer Andy Carroll told Fox. “Any controversial flags or other similar banners or signs with symbols of hatred, divisiveness and/or intolerance whether intentional or otherwise will not be permitted in our stadiums. Period.”

Major League Soccer has recently enacted a new policy that disallows any political statements from being displayed by a team’s supporters, regardless of the message.  This led to a silent protest by fans of the Seattle Sounders and the Portland Timbers just weeks ago.

New ESPN Prez Finally Admits Network Went Too Far to the Left

Now, a new ESPN president is finally admitting that he was hired to eliminate the left-wingism and get the sports network back to covering sports.

Published

on

For the last five years sports cable network ESPN has been pushing left-wing politics into its sports coverage, but has the whole time refused to admit what it was doing. Now, a new network president is finally admitting that he was hired to eliminate the left-wingism and get the sports network back to covering sports.

Jimmy Pitaro took over ESPN this year and has initiated a campaign to get the network back to being the premier sports news network in the world.

The ESPN chief recently spoke to Sports Business Journal and said that the network’s leftism was even upsetting casual fans of the network’s coverage:

“A good chunk of it (decisions and direction of the network) is based on data. And what I’ve heard consistently from day one of getting this job is the more we lean in to politically charged commentary the more we are alienating not just our core fan, but our casual fan.

And as we talk about expanding our audience that’s a problem for us. Core and casual fans are tuning in to ESPN, and again this is backed up by data, they are tuning in to ESPN because they love sports, they love ESPN, but also during divisive times like we’re living in today, they are tuning in to us for an escape. As an escape. And so every time we lean too much into that politically charged commentary we are alienating our fans.

And so, that is clear and convincing data that I’ve seen repeatedly. And so we’ve been very vocal that is not what we do. That is not who we are.”

That is a major departure from past network presidents and officials who all insisted that there was NO leftism problem at ESPN.

Indeed, ESPN’s one-time ombudsman, Jim Brady — who has since been fired and his position eliminated — published an extensive article in 2016 where he essentially concluded that ESPN had no problem at all with left-wing politics.

It was the company line for five years that there is no left-wing politics at ESPN. But, as you saw above, the new president is now admitted that he was hired to fix the problem they all claimed didn’t exist.

Pitaro isn’t alone, either. His own boss, Disney CEO Bob Iger, also recently admitted that Pitaro is being tasked with cutting out the left-wingery at ESPN.

In September, Disney’s chief praised Pitaro’s work to guide ESPN’s coverage back toward sports and away from politics in comments reported by the Hollywood Reporter:

I have nothing but praise for the job Jimmy Pitaro has done at ESPN. There’s been a big debate about whether ESPN should be focused more on what happens on the field of sport than what happens in terms of where sports is societally or politically. And Jimmy felt that the pendulum may have swung a little bit too far away from the field. And I happen to believe he was right. And it’s something, by the way, that I think John Skipper had come to recognize as well. But Jimmy coming in fresh has had the ability to address it, I think, far more aggressively and effectively. He has brought back some balance.

This is also a departure from the former party line that ESPN had no left-wing sports problem.

Natural Female Cycler Calls ‘Unfair’ After ‘Transgender’ Man Wins Women’s Cycling Event

A man claiming to be transgender recently won a national cycling championship in LA, but now some of the natural-born women he beat are crying foul.

Published

on

A man claiming to be a transgender woman recently won a national bicycling championship in Los Angeles, but now some of the natural-born women he beat for first place are crying foul.

Cyclist Rachel McKinnon, a man who claims to be a transitioned female, won the women’s sprint 35-39 age bracket at the 2018 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships last weekend. McKinnon is a professor at the College of Charleston and was racing for the Canadian team.

McKinnon, who has been an outspoken activists for transgender rights, celebrated the win on Twitter saying, “First transgender woman world champion…ever.”

But now the natural-born woman who was edged into third place because McKinnion was competing criticized the situation as totally unfair.

“I was the 3rd place rider. It’s definitely NOT fair,” wrote Wagner  in a tweet on Monday, The Daily Caller reported.

In another tweet Wagner slammed the “rules” that allow men claiming to be women to compete in the women’s category.

Wagner’s ire was raised by the race last weekend.

As Breitbart Sports reported:

McKinnon edged out natural-born female contestants Carolien Van Herrikhuyzen of the Netherlands and American Jennifer Wagner.

McKinnon has been a critic of forcing transgender athletes to suppress their testosterone.

In an interview published in January by USA Today, McKinnon insisted that forcing trans people to alter their physical condition to be allowed to participate in sports is a violation of their human rights. McKinnon thinks the requirements to lower testosterone is inherently discriminatory.

“This is bigger than sports and it’s about human rights,” McKinnon said. “By catering to cisgender people’s views, that furthers transgender people’s oppression. When it comes to extending rights to a minority population, why would we ask the majority? I bet a lot of white people were pissed off when we desegregated sports racially and allowed black people. But they had to deal with it.”

McKinnon also insisted that if we “legally recognize” transgenders in society, then we have to do so in sports.

“We cannot have a woman legally recognized as a trans woman in society, and not be recognized that way in sports,” McKinnon told the paper. “Focusing on performance advantage is largely irrelevant because this is a rights issue. We shouldn’t be worried about trans people taking over the Olympics. We should be worried about their fairness and human rights instead.”

Many on Twitter criticized McKinnon saying that it should not surprise anyone that a man beat the women in cycling.

Some insisted that his stronger build and natural testosterone made him a sure thing to beat the contestants who were natural-born females.

But, in response to Twitter critics, McKinnon spoke to lowered testosterone levels in sports. On Twitter, McKinnon said, “I’m still forced to have an unhealthily low endogenous testosterone value…it’s virtually undetectable it’s so low…way below the average for women.”

Still, many on Twitter slammed the man turned female bike champion.

https://twitter.com/libsg41/status/1051533970276577281

This problem is recurring in sports all across the world.

Recently a man claiming to be a transgender weightlifter defeated all the natural-born women at a New Zealand contest causing many to question the legitimacy of the win.

In another Breitbart Sports report:

A New Zealand man has discovered the secret to dominating women’s weightlifting: identify as a woman while remaining a biological man, and then out lift all the biological women in the competition.
That strategy worked famously for Laurel Hubbard, a biological man identifying as a woman who used his biological advantages to run away with the Australian International weightlifting competition in Melbourne, where Hubbard set four new records while leaving the competition in the dust.

Some competitors congratulated Hubbard after the event, while others felt less inclined to do so. Bronze medalist Kaitlyn Fassina said, “She is who she is. That’s the way the politics…and what the New Zealanders have decided. I can’t say much more than that. She is seen as female and that’s the way it is.”

But, Olympic Weightlifting New Zealand President Garry Marshall said that he didn’t think the whole thing was fair. While admitting that Hubbard had undertaken to create lower testosterone, Marshall noted that the competitor was still nearly as strong as he was when he competed as a man.

“That strength has remained with her, despite testosterone. That point is not recognized by the science and some of our competitors would say that’s not fair,” Marshall said.

The problem has reared its ugly head in high school sports, as well.

Two boys “identifying” as girls have been crushing their natural-born female contestants at high school track events in Connecticut early this year.

Claimed transgender student Terry Miller of Bulkeley, Connecticut, set a “record” for the girl’s competition in the 100 and 200-meter runs in June.

But as if that wasn’t bad enough, the second place finisher was also a transgender student, Andraya Yearwood of Cromwell.

But one of the coaches said he had fielded a lot of questions from upset parents who thought the whole thing was unfair:

For his part, Hillhouse coach Gary Moore has criticized the policy. Moore insisted that allowing biological boys to compete as girls “wasn’t fair to the girls.”

Moore added that people have come to him privately to express dissatisfaction with the policy, CTPost reported.

“I’ve been stopped by at least five coaches,” Moore said, “all of them saying they really liked what I said in the paper. How come other coaches aren’t talking? This is a big issue a lot of coaches have, that we’ve got to do something, but how come you’re not saying anything? I’ve said what I needed to say. I’m getting a little annoyed with the coaches that we haven’t been able to get together and do what’s best for everybody.”

Glastonbury coach Brian Collins also criticized the district for allowing the boys to compete as girls.

“I think a lot of people, myself in included, have a problem with is a biological male competing. When they put the state law in effect, my interpretation is it wasn’t made for high school sports,” Collins said. “I think it was meant for all people, whether transgender, bisexual, gay, are treated fairly. I totally agree with that, but with sports, it’s not a level playing field. You’d probably ask the state reps if the law should be changed for sports.”

This sort of nonsense will continue until sports officials wake up to reality and stop allowing males to compete as females. Because if they don’t, real girls will simply stop bothering with sports because, well, why bother? If men can pretend to be women and then totally crush them in every competition… what is the point of trying to compete.

Players Already Protesting Against the Country As NFL Season Kicks Off

A handful of millionaire football players once again started up their anti-American protests as the NFL season started in earnest on Sunday.

Published

on

A handful of millionaire football players once again started up their anti-American protests as the NFL season started in earnest on Sunday.

The 2018 NFL season officially kicked off last week yet no players openly protested against the country in Thursday’s games. But if you thought maybe the players had tired of protesting against the country during the national anthem, you’d have another think coming because when Sunday’s games opened, a number of players once again took to their protests.

So, it looks like petulant, millionaire players are still very keen to protest against the very country that made them millionaires!

According to USA Today:

Miami Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson became the first players of the 2018 regular season to kneel in protest during the national anthem when they did so before Sunday’s contest against the Tennessee Titans.

Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn also raised a fist during the song, as did San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin before his team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Telvin Smith both stayed in the locker room for the anthem, as did Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and linebacker Brandon Marshall.

Stills and Wilson both kneeled in the preseason and said they planned to continue to do so in the regular season. Stills said he would consider stopping if former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who began kneeling in 2016 as a means to protest racial inequality and police brutality, and former 49ers safety Eric Reid were signed by an NFL team.

Meanwhile, anthem protest inventor, Colin Kaepernick, tweeted out his praise of the Dolphins players who took a knee on Sunday.

“My Brothers @kstills and @ithinkisee12 continue to show their unwavering strength by fighting for the oppressed!,” Kaepernick tweeted. “They have not backed down, even when attacked and intimidated. Their courage will move the world forward!”

So, if you thought maybe the National Football Leagues could get back to, you know, FOOTBALL… well, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen any time soon.

One thing is sure, it will be goodbye to the NFL from millions more Americans.
