Navy Vet Raises Over $3 Million In Bid To Take Rep. Maxine Waters’ Seat

Republican congressional candidate and Navy veteran Joe E. Collins speaks out on why he’s running against the longtime Democrat incumbent in California.

Transcript:

EARHARDT: “The pandemic is taking a devastating toll on black-owned businesses here in America. A new study showing 41 percent have permanently closed due to COVID-19. Compare that to 17 percent of white-owned businesses. It’s a problem our next guest, a Navy veteran, is well aware of as he takes on a new mission to serve in Congress and he’s looking to unseat the Democrat congresswoman Maxine Waters for California’s 43rd congressional district. That Navy veteran and GOP congressional candidate is Joe Collins and he joins us now. Good morning to you, Joe.”

COLLINS: “Good morning, how are you?”

EARHARDT: “Good morning. We did ask Maxine to join us, too, and we haven’t heard back from her. But we wanted to — first, your reaction on that? Unfortunately, so many black businesses have closed because of COVID permanently.”

COLLINS: “Yes. Yes, this is true, and it’s because of leaders like — or so-called leaders like Maxine Waters. You would think that when you are a black leader in a black community, your prime responsibility is to ensure that the people that are in your district have what they need in order to survive during times like COVID-19, but unfortunately, that has not been the case. We have tons of black-owned businesses here in Los Angeles that has not been able to receive any type of benefits, not from the state, not from the city or from the federal government, and part of the reason is — or the majority the reason is because of Maxine Waters.”

EARHARDT: “So why are you — why are you running as a Republican, first of all, and what do you want to say to the voters out there in your district that could — could go to the polls and vote for you?”

COLLINS: “Well, the reason why I am a Republican is because whenever I joined the Navy back in 2004, my mentors and my leaders in the military said that you pick your party based on the values that — that align with you and you vote for people based on the values that align with you. And so when you look at the history the Republican Party and you talk about the things that the Republican Party have been able to offer, such as the, you know, the fight for — to end slavery, or the fight to remove big government from intrusion of your life, the fight for, you know, to to keep your gun rights and things of this nature, you know, these are things that resonate with me, especially being a U. S. Navy veteran. And the reason why I’m running against Maxine Waters is because I am — grew up in South Central Los Angeles and I think that, you know, coming back home after 13 1/2 of service, seeing things are considerably worse, especially the homeless pandemic, the lack of quality jobs or education being among dead last in the country, the prime issue here is the person who has the most influence and that person is Maxine Waters. And so me being a resident of South Los Angeles, I think that, you know, we as young people have to step up and start taking roles in our community, leadership roles, and start removing aged politicians from office so we can start to move forward productively.”

EARHARDT: “I know that she has a lot of name recognition, especially after she was, you know, screaming impeach, impeach this president. You raised $3.1 million. How did you do that?”

COLLINS: “Well, we’ve been very blessed to have a lot of great supporters from across the United States, especially in California, in our district. People want to see Maxine Waters gone. I will tell you, she’s lost a lot of trust, especially with ‘Impeach 45’. When you look at the accomplishments that she’s had over the over the years, and it’s been very, very few — I mean, she said she was going to get the president out of the White House and she absolutely failed on that issue as well.”

EARHARDT: “Joe, sorry to cut you off, but we are running out of time. We wish you all the best. Thank you so much for coming on. And once again, we did reach out to your opponent Maxine Waters and we have not heard back. We would like to have her on the show, too. God bless you, Joe.”

Joe Biden: “And we can change the path we’re on, but we’ve got to act now. This country can’t afford to wait four more years of Donald Trump’s denial, who thinks the only responsible — only responsible to the people who voted for him. I don’t see the presidency that way. I don’t see the presidency that way. In 2008, in 2012, Florida placed their trust in me and Barack. And each day we were in office, we worked as hard for you and the entire country as we did — not red states, blue states. It was always the United States of America.

(Cheering and Applause)

Folks, I was reminded of that earlier this month when I visited the sacred grounds of Gettysburg. Abraham Lincoln thought us that we need to unite our nation. That a house divided cannot stand. And I was reminded of it earlier this week when I want to Warm Springs, Georgia, reflecting on FDR thought us about the need to heal the nation. I’m running as a proud Democrat, but I’ll govern as an American president to unite and to heal.”

Bidens Family’s ‘Get-Rich-Quick Schemes’ Should Be Disqualifying

Americans should be alarmed by the fact that the family of Democratic nominee Joe Biden appears to be “knee-deep in sleaze,” Fox News Laura Ingraham said.

“People like the Bidens — and the Clintons for that matter — they don’t have to take formal bribes,” explained Laura Ingraham. “There is no need for any smoking gun. They simply do everything possible while in office to help rich people and to fight off movements … that would force big business to pay higher wages.”

Laura Ingraham added that “during the years between 2000 and 2016, a lot of middle-class folks wondered, ‘What happened to our good-paying jobs and wages? … What happened to all the prosperity we were supposed to see from allowing China into the World Trade Organization? If you look at the Bidens and the Clintons’ paydays, well, you can see where some of that money went.”

Laura Ingraham noted that one purported email uncovered by the New York Post showed Hunter Biden demanding a Chinese oil tycoon pay $10 million for introductions with people like his father, then the vice president.
