Nation’s Second Largest Media Group McClatchy Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

The nation’s second-largest newspaper chain is on the verge of collapse, according to bankruptcy court documents.

The nation’s second-largest newspaper chain is on the verge of collapse, according to bankruptcy court documents.

The McClatchy Company, publisher of newspapers such as the Miami Herald and the Kansas City Star, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week.

The company’s 30 local newsrooms will continue operating as normal while the company restructures under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to the Associated Press.

The company is over 160 years old having started in Sacramento in 1857 following the Gold Rush with the Sacramento Bee. Recently, McClatchy was forced to take out a loan of $50 million from Encina Business Credit to keep the news agencies it owns in operation.

As part of its reorganization, the company expects to pull its publicly-traded listing on the New York Stock Exchange and go private.

It the bankruptcy courts approve of the purchase, Chatham Asset Management LLC, will lead the newspapers as a privately-held company.

“While this is obviously a sad milestone after 163 years of family control, McClatchy remains a strong operating company and committed to essential local news and information,” said Kevin McClatchy, chairman of the company. “While we tried hard to avoid this step, there’s no question that the scale of our 75-year-old pension plan – with 10 pensioners for every single active employee – is a reflection of another economic era.”

McClatchy said that its biggest problem has been a drop off in subscribers many of whom turned to the Internet to get their news.

Breitbart News also noted</> that the company has been beset with lawsuits.

The company has also been hit with a wave of defamation lawsuits. McClatchy is being sued by House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) for defamation for targeting Nunes as he investigated Democrats’ involvement in the Russia campaign collusion hoax.

Looks like the fake news is finally catching up to them.

Poll: Most Journalists Are Even Further Left Than Commie Bernie

A new poll finds that most so-called “journalists” are even farther to the left than commie Bernie Sanders.

A new poll finds that most so-called “journalists” are even farther to the left than commie Bernie Sanders. I know what you are thinking: Who didn’t know this?

Anyone who has paid attention to media coverage of, well, anything, really, would know that the media is filled to overflowing with leftists posing as reporters.

But this poll finds that it is worse than we thought.

According to Hot Air:

An academic study by a trio of professors claims to have proven there is no such thing as media bias despite the fact that the same study found most journalists are much father left than the average Twitter user. In fact, a majority of journalists, based on their Twitter interactions, are somewhere to the left of Bernie Sanders. Here’s the graph showing the results.

Per the study:

Figure 2 shows the distribution of ideological positions of journalists based on their Twitter interactions. As can be seen, journalists are dominantly liberal and often fall far to the left of Americans. A full 78.1% of journalists are more liberal than the average Twitter user. Moreover, 66% are even more liberal than former President Obama, 62.3% are to the left of the median Senate Democrat (in the 114th Congress), and a full 14.5% are more liberal than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (one of the most liberal members of the House).

In short, journalists are overwhelmingly liberal/Democrats and many journalists appear to be far to the left of the average American.

Does anyone think that this extreme left-wing bias does not leak into their work? Have you ever met a leftist who does not allow their political feelings to infest every aspect of their lives?

You can also be sure these “news” outlets would be engaging in waves of firings if they found their reporters had a conservative bias.

National Public Radio’s New CEO is a Democrat Donor

We have learned that NPR’s new CEO is a Democrat donor, proving that National Public Radio should have all tax dollars pulled.

We have learned that NPR’s new CEO is a Democrat donor, proving once again that National Public Radio should have all tax dollars pulled.

Seriously, why are we pouring tax dollars into a “news” network that is 100 percent in the pocket of one party?

According to Newsbusters:

The new president and CEO of NPR, John Lansing, contributed $500 each to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) Aug. 17, 2019, and Kentucky challenger for Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY), senate seat Amy McGrath (D) Aug. 15, 2019, according to Federal Election Commission records.

And these donations are not “old” or “long ago.”

The records suggest he made his contributions just less than a month before NPR announced his appointment to head up the government-funded news organization Sept. 5, raising questions about conflicts of interest. Lansing would assume his new role mid-October, according to NPR.

As a reminder, only a few weeks ago an NPR hack sandbagged Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Just recently, in January, NPR was the centerpiece of controversy concerning Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. NPR reporter Mary Louise Kelly had allegedly shifted from a pre-agreed discussion about Iran to cornering Pompeo on questions concerning Ukraine, the lynchpin of the entire media-driven impeachment crusade. Pompeo had accused Kelly of breaking an off-the-record agreement, Breitbart reported Jan. 25.

In any case, NPR chose a donor to Democrats as its new chief.

And we are expected to believe that NPR is not going to be run as an arm of the Democrat Party… by a guy who is a fundraiser for the Democrat Party??

Congress should defund both PBS and NPR NOW.

CNN Claims the ‘Old Confederacy’ Defeated Democrat Impeachment Obsession

A CNN analyst claimed that the “old Confederacy” is what defeated the Democrat Party’s impeachment obsession.

A CNN analyst claimed that the “old Confederacy” is what defeated the Democrat Party’s impeachment obsession. That’s right, CNN is once again saying that the USA is filled with racists.

As he inaugurated his first month as a new CNN analyst, John Harwood proved that he is no different than any other CNN “analyst” by claiming that all Republicans are racists.

What a new outlook for CNN, huh?

Harwood took to Twitter to claim that the “old Confederacy” rose up to make sure John Bolton would not be testifying before the U.S. Senate for the Democrat’s impeachment obsession.

In his Saturday Tweet, Harwood claimed that of the 51 Republicans who voted to put an end to the left’s fake witnesses — including late Trump accuser John Bolton — 25 were from states of the “old Confederacy.”

Harwood added, “the old Confederacy represents the bulwark of the 21st century GOP.”

But it wasn’t long before smarter commentators began ridiculing nearly every aspect of Harwood’s “analysis.”

Several, for instance, noted that only 11 states seceded from the Union at the outset of the Civil War.

Others slammed Harwood for seeming to assume that big Trump states like Ohio and Pennsylvania are members of the “old Confederacy.”

Later that day, Harwood deleted the tweet because even if his “analysis” was right, he even had to admit that he got the “25 senators” number wrong.

Regardless, it’s just like CNN to seek to divide the country with appeals to the left’s constant racebaiting.

U.S. State Dept. Removes NPR Reporter from Sec. of State Pompeo’s London Trip

The U.S. Department of State has removed an NPR reporter from the media pool with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on his trip to London.

The U.S. Department of State has removed an NPR reporter from the media pool given permission to accompany Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on his trip to London.

The DOS removed NPR reporter Michele Kelemen from the official jet for a round of foreign visits including London, England and Kiev, Ukraine.

The exclusion of the NPR reporter came but a few days after NPR writer Mary Louise Kelly accused Pompeo of verbally attacking her after she was reportedly unable to locate Ukraine on a map.

Unsurprisingly, after the decision was made, members of the left-wing press began claiming that Pompeo is an “enemy” of the country.

the president of the State Department Correspondents’ Association, AFP writer Shaun Tandon, quickly went on the attack saying:

We can only conclude that the State Department is retaliating against National Public Radio as a result of this exchange. The State Department press corps has long tradition of accompanying Secretaries of State on their travels, and we find it unacceptable to punish an individual member of our association.

Of course, the truth is that NPR has no automatic right to be included in any event or activity put on the by federal government. Being excluded from events does not in any way cancel a reporter’s free speech.

The whole thing started when NPR writer Mary Louise Kelly accused Sec. of State Pompeo of being un-American by obeying his boss — that would be President Trump — and allowing Obama appointee Marie Yovanovitch to be fired as the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine.

(For the record every president has the right to fire ANY ambassador at ANY time. They all serve at the pleasure of the president, they don’t serve congress at all nor do they directly serve the people of the United States of America.)

the exchange soon became tense and Pompeo asked the NPR writer to point out Ukraine on a map. Proving Pompeo’s point that she hadn’t a clue what she was rambling about, she reportedly pointed to the map at Bangladesh instead of Ukraine. Point: Pompeo.

Pompeo was also ticked that Kelly pulled a bait-and-switch on him by lying to him about what her interview was going to be about in the first place in order to ambush him with her Ukraine topics.

Pompeo released a statement slamming NPR for the ruse:

“NPR reporter Mary Louise Kelly lied to me, twice. First, last month — in setting up our interview — and, then again yesterday, in agreeing to have our post-interview conversation off the record.

It is shameful that this reporter chose to violate the basic rules of journalism and decency. This is another example of how unhinged the media has become in its quest to hurt President Trump and this Administration.

It is no wonder that the American people distrust many in the media when they so consistently demonstrate their agenda and their absence of integrity.”

It is clear that removing Michele Kelemen from the media pool for the overseas visit is legitimate chastisement for NPR’s journalistic malfeasance.

The Media’s Avalanche of Fake News About Kobe Bryant’s Death

The lamestream media was literally filled with fake news and misinformation in the hours after NBA star Kobe Bryant died .

The lamestream media was literally filled with fake news and misinformation in the hours after NBA star Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter accident.

In the all too lamentable rush to be “first” with the news, many media outlets didn’t let that thing called facts get in the way of their fake news as the nation collectively learned of the death of the L.A. Laker star.

Bryant was one of nine people who perished early on Sunday morning when the player’s privately-owned helicopter smashed into a hillside in Calabasas, California, during foggy conditions that had grounded many other flights.

The nine people who lost their lives in the crash, included Bryant, his daughter, Gigi, and pilot Ara Zobayan.

The others who died in the crash included Harbor Day School girl’s basketball coach Christina Mauser, Orange Coast College basketball coach John Altobelli, his daughter Alyssa Altobelli and wife, Keri Altobelli, and also Sarah Chester and her 13-year-old daughter, Payton. The latter was an 8th-grade student at St. Margaret’s School.

But during the afternoon on Sunday, the media began disgorging all sorts of rumors and presented them as facts.

ABC News’s Matt Gutman, for instance, reported that the crash not only killed the player, but also killed all four of his daughters. While the player’s 13-year-old daughter did die in the accident, his other three children were safe at home at the time.

“The fact that four of his children are believed to be on that helicopter with him, all daughters, one of them a newborn, is simply devastating,” Gutman said during a live broadcast, adding, “Hoping that this is not the case, but, you know, from the police reports right now, it appears that Kobe Bryant is down in that helicopter.”

On the other side of that coin, reporter Lindsey Mastis insisted that “Kobe Bryant is survived by his wife and four children, so it does not appear they were on board the helicopter.” This was also wildly wrong because daughter Gigi was on board with Kobe and both were killed.

Then there was ESPN which picked up the erroneous rumor that retired NBA player Rick Fox was killed in the accident. Fox was not on the flight at all.

Then there were the images of a helicopter crash filmed in Dubai in 2018 that many said was video of the Bryant cash scene.

In the rush to get the news first, many simply got it wrong.

ABC’s Stephanopoulos Caught Giving ‘Throat-Slit’ Move to Dump GOP Attny For Supporting Trump

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was caught giving the “throat-slit” move to tell TV techs to cut the mic of a GOP lawyer.

In a video clip that is going viral, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was caught giving the “throat-slit” move to tell TV techs to cut the mic of a GOP lawyer who was coming to Trump’s side on TV.

As Daily Wire reported:

ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos — who once served as a senior advisor to the only other living impeached president not named Donald Trump — was caught on camera Thursday making a “slit-the-throat” gesture urging the crew to stop showing White House Attorney Jay Sekulow as he countered a reporter’s supposition that allies of President Trump have “made statements to the effect of ‘abuse of power is an impeachable offense.’”

Sekulow was asked about some of the president’s surrogates who made similar statements. In reply, the attorney said:

You know, we’ve got something very different from what you’re hearing up here; you’re hearing video clips of testimony. We’ve got lawyers who are going to put forward, when our side of the case goes, that represent multiple schools of thought on what is and what is not an impeachable offense. But they have one thing in common: that the actions alleged and the actions of the president do not reach that level, no matter which school of thought you’re on. And we’re not afraid to put out both of those schools of thought because our position is you still have to meet basic fundamental constitutional obligations, and they haven’t. Next?

But the ABC cameras then cut to Stephanopoulos who was seen making the throat motion to dump Sekulow from the screen.

Then Stephanopoulos is seen realizing that he was caught on camera making the move. He gives a meek grin, then quickly tries to move on to his left-wing panel.

Naturally, social media users properly understood that Stephanopoulos was revealed as desperately trying to censor a strong, pro-Trump voice from appearing on his show.

This is the perfect example of fake news:

Iranian People’s Love for Trump Breaks A Twitter Record, The Left-Media Ignores It

President Donald Trump broke a record on Twitter this week, yet the media has completely ignored it.

Trump broke a record on Twitter this week, yet the media has completely ignored it. Why? Because the record resulted from the support millions of regular Iranian citizens have for President Donald Trump.

The President set a Twitter record by Tweeting out the most liked Tweet ever posted in Farsi, Iran’s most important language.

With the terror-loving Mullahs cracking down on the pro-democracy activists in Iran, President Trump tweeted out his support for the Iranian people.

“To the brave and suffering Iranian people: I have stood with you since the beginning of my presidency and my government will continue to stand with you,” Trump tweeted in Farsi. “We are following your protests closely. Your courage is inspiring.”

Trump’s tweet came on the heels of millions of regular Iranian citizens flooded the streets to protest against the terroristic regime of the ruling Mullahs.

In turn, the Iranian government began cracking down on the people by beating them, arresting them, and even killing them.

By Monday evening, the tweet had earned more than 360,000 likes.

Saeed Ghasseminejad, a senior adviser and financial economist at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, noted that the tweet was a record-breaking posting.

In another Tweet, Trump wrote, “The government of Iran must allow human rights groups to monitor and report facts from the ground on the ongoing protests by the Iranian people. There cannot be another massacre of peaceful protesters, nor an internet shutdown. The world is watching.”

So, why has the U.S. media ignored all this? Because it shows that the Iranian people love Donald Trump. And the media can’t have that.
