Chicago Police Video Shows "Ambush" Of Officers At Grant Park Columbus Statue

Video released from the Chicago Police Department on Monday, July 20, 2020, shows protesters marching Friday, July 17, 2020, through Grant Park and clashes between protesters and police near the Christopher Columbus statue.

In response to Friday’s events, Brown said he’s ordered all officers to wear “any and all protective gear” when policing demonstrations.

Democrats are either incapable of governing or this is what they want. Can’t have it both ways.

Fox News:

Chicago’s top cop said his officers were ambushed during violent clashes between protesters and police last week near a statue of Christopher Columbus as objects were hurled at officers during heated confrontations between the groups.

Trending: Black Lives Matter Leader Now Says White People’s Churches ‘Should All Come Down’

Police Superintendent David Brown said his department has faced “organized actions to provoke violent responses from our officers” during a Monday news briefing where a video of Friday’s events at Grant Park was released.

He said peaceful demonstrations spanning several weeks have been hijacked by what he called “organized mobs.”

Officials said the six-minute compilation video released by the Chicago Police Department shows demonstrators dressed in black using umbrellas to shield themselves while hurling frozen water bottles and cans, rocks, explosives and other items at officers. In the video, many officers retreat behind the statue or hold up riot shields during the incident.

Protesters hid behind the umbrellas and banners to change into black clothing, police said. The footage also captures people distributing items to throw at police, while others used sharpened PVC pipe to stab officers, officials said.

Brown said 49 police officers were injured, including one with a broken eye socket and another who had a broken kneecap. Twelve people were arrested for mob action, damage to property and attacking police officers. More

So let me get this straight. Democrats so-called “protesters” can use dangerous weapons to harm cops but cops can’t use weapons, dangerous weapons, or lethal weapons in response? Eventually, our country will have enough of this crap. They just haven’t hit that breaking point yet. Until then, I’ll sit back watch every Democrat town literally burn themselves to the ground.

POLL: 44% of Americans Say They Want MORE Police, Not Less

A new poll finds that a majority of Americans want more police, not less as the Defund The Police movement continues to gain ground.

A new poll finds that a majority of Americans want more police, not less as the Defund The Police movement continues to gain ground in left-wing cities across the country.

The new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen reveals that 44 percent of respondents want more police in their neighborhood, not fewer.

The poll also finds that only a tiny 12 percent want to eliminate the police.

“Just 12% of respondents to the poll said they’d prefer less police presence where they live, while 37% said they would favor neither more nor less police patrols in their neighborhoods,” Just the News wrote. “In total, over three-quarters of all Americans would like to see police presence in their area either remain the same or increase. (Only 7% of respondents said they were “not sure.”)”

The result shows that the fascist, left-wing Black Lives Matter terror outfit may not have the depth of support that the media tries to claim it has.

Let’s hope trends like this grow.

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was taken on Jul. 30 – Aug. 1, 2020 and has a margin of sampling error is +/- 2.8% for full sample.

Enraged Seattle Residents Flocked Phones To Blast The City Council’s Plans To Cut Police Funding

Enraged Seattle residents flocked to their phones to blast the city council’s plans to cut police funding by as much as 50%. The council is scheduled to vote on the issue next week.

“The Seattle City Council heard from hundreds during Wednesday’s budget meeting as members get closer to a vote on whether to defund the police department by 50 percent, a decision that could lead to the firing of hundreds of officers … One day after launching a ‘Stop Defunding’ petition, the Seattle Police Officers Guild said they already collected more than 20,000 signatures,” Q13 Fox reported.

The “Stop Defunding” petition: “On Monday, August 3rd, 2020, despite having no specific plan, the Seattle City Council will vote to defund the Seattle Police Department. The defunding of the SPD would mean that up to 800 officers would be fired. That’s over half of all sworn officers. It would also mean immensely longer 911 response times and of course, higher crime rates. Please sign our petition to stop the defunding of the Seattle Police Department and send a message to the city council that says ‘no’ to the defunding the Seattle Police Department.”

Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG) President Mike Solan said 100 officers would be off the force if the cuts are approved.

One caller asserted: “SPD is already understaffed and with the city growing rapidly, calls for service are increasing. I do not want less officers, I want more officers who are able to respond to priority calls in seven minutes or less. We don’t live in Utopia.”

Another added: “Seattle City Council, you are irresponsibly not fully representing your constituents by making the reckless decision of defunding our police department by 50 percent.”

On Thursday, after a city council meeting, Solan said, “What’s quite clear [is] that there is an activist class that is deeply entrenched in the political public safety conversations here, and they bombarded the public comment line. It was close to 300 people.”

“In 36 hours, we have over 20,000 signatures that are being used to push against this defunding nonsense and tell the Seattle City Council ‘no’ on their defunding, naive, dangerous proposal of removing 50% of our budget,” Solan said of the petition, as reported by KIRO. “We may possibly release this to the city council to show them, hey, we’re not being controlled by the unreasonable activists that you’re governing to, and I call it governing by Twitter.”

Seattle, you better do something about this, or you will lose your police and crime will continue to soar.

Massachusetts Fire Fighters Refuse to Take Down Police-Supporting ‘Thin Blue Line’ Flags

A Massachusetts fire department has refused its city’s orders to take down its police-supporting “Thin Blue Line” flags.

Published

A Massachusetts fire department has refused its city’s orders to take down its police-supporting “Thin Blue Line” flags, a report says.

The firemen in Hingham, a suburb of Boston, have told officials to pound sand and that they will not be removing the flags from their firetrucks.

The firefighters were told last week by their chief, Steve Murphy, to remove the flags, but the men are in open revolt over the order, The Patriot Ledger reported.

The chief claimed that the flags violate the city’s rules against police and firefighters displaying political emblems on their uniforms, equipment, and vehicles.

Town mayor Tom Mayo has reiterated the orders for the firemen to remove the flags.

“We will do this carefully, and we will do this respectfully so we can attempt to move forward as a community,” Mayo said this week.

A recent meeting of the town showed many residents in support of the firemen.

Hingham selectmen addressed the issue at their Tuesday night meeting, just hours after more than 100 people stood in front of town hall in reaction to the order. Dozens of protestors against the order waved American flags and held signs that said “We support and pray for police.” Those who supported the order held signs that said “Black Lives Matter” and “Justice for Breonna Taylor.”

“The flags flown by Hingham firefighters were originally purchased to show support for the police department after the 2018 killing of Weymouth police Sgt. Michael Chesna, but have recently ‘taken a different political meaning,’ the chiefs said. Firefighters have refused to remove the flag,” the Ledger added.

In other words, the flags have been there for several years until Black Lives Matter terrorists noticed and began threatening the town.

The city council tried to have it both ways:

Selectmen said in their joint statement that they have “stood with our men and women in blue” in response to the recent questions around policing. The statement also condemned threats levied at the resident who initially requested the flags be taken down. Since the request has gone public, the resident has faced “ceaseless and vicious” harassment, including threats to his life and harassment that has expanded to his family, selectmen said.

Sorry folks. You can’t be both for you police and against things that show support for them.

You are either with your police, or you are card-carrying members of the terrorist outfit called Black Lives Matter.

Seattle Police Tell Residents and Business Owners They are On Their Own Against the Rioters

Seattle’s chief of police sent out a letter last Thursday telling residents and business owners that they cannot expect the police to help.

Published

Seattle’s chief of police sent out a letter last Thursday telling residents and business owners that they cannot expect the police to help them in the face of the rioters.

Washington Examiner reporter Byron York tweeted a copy of the letter that more or less tells the resident of Seattle “you are on your own.”

The letter, released by Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best, is dated July 24 and tells residents that a new city ordinance essentially ties their hands in the face of the rioters.

“Please know that the Seattle Police Department is committed to addressing life safety incidents and calls for service and responding to ongoing demonstrations and unrest in the city,” Chief Best wrote.

“Please also know that the City Council Ordinance 119805 Crowd Control Tool goes into effect this weekend on Sunday, July 26, 2020,” Best continued. “This ordinance bans Seattle Police officers the use of less lethal tools, including pepper spray that is commonly used to disperse crowds that have turned violent. Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd.”

“It is important to bring to your attention that yesterday, I sent the City Council a letter ensuring them that as the Chief of Police, I have done my due diligence of informing them numerous times of the foreseeable impact of this ordinance on upcoming events. The letter is attached for your reference,” the chief added.

In a letter sent to the city council, Best told them that she won’t put her officers at risk after their hands were tied so thoroughly.

“It is a fact that there are groups and individuals who are intent on destruction in our City,” Best informed the council. “Yes, we also have seen weeks of peaceful demonstrations, but two recent events (Sunday, July 19th and Wednesday, July 22nd) have included wide-scale property destruction and attacks on officers, injuring more than a dozen, some significantly.”

She added that the city will experience more “property destruction, arson, looting, and attempts to injure additional officers throughout the weekend and beyond.”

“If I am not allowed to lawfully equip officers with the tools they have been trained to use to protect the community and themselves, it would be reckless to have them confront this level of violence under the current legal restrictions imposed by Council,” the chief said.

Recipe for Disaster: Armed Minneapolis Residents Beginning to Patrol Neighborhood

Armed Minneapolis residents are begging to patrol their own neighborhoods as the city council continues plans to end the police force.

Published

on

Armed Minneapolis residents are begging to patrol their own neighborhoods as the dangerous demagogues in the city council continue plans to end the police force.

The armed patrols are part of a grassroots effort to protect their neighborhoods and businesses from rioters and criminals. Some groups have even set up barriers around their neighborhoods to control who can enter, the Wall Street Journal reported.

This is a recipe for disaster and people WILL get killed if this continues and/or grows.

Certainly, these residents are well and right to arm themselves and begin policing their own areas. That IS what the Second Amendment is for, after all.

However, the police are the police because they are undergo years of training for their job. Regular people simply are not trained for the job of patrolling and policing a neighborhood.

Police officers are trained to know when deadly force is needed. Civilians simply don’t have the intense training that police do. So, the fact is, when these civilian patrols begin shooting first and asking questions later, it will be the fault of the Minneapolis city council for neutering and eliminating the police.

At this point, the Minneapolis Police Department is even lending a bit of support for the idea of a local patrol.

“We have long supported neighborhood patrols. All laws must be obeyed by those engaging in these patrols,” Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder told the Journal. “We have been clear these are in supplement to the police department and not as a substitute.’

Still, some of the locals involved in these patrols really do think of themselves as a replacement for a police force that has been hamstrung by city hall.

“I am hesitant to call the police,” 30-year-old Kadence Hampton insisted. “They are not proactively preventing any type of harm. When they do show up, they escalate things. I am not convinced calling the police is the safest thing to do.”

Of course, crime has exploded across Minneapolis since the police have been put on a leash by the city government.

So, you really can’t blame these poor people for having to do something to protect themselves.

Teen Daughter of Murdered Cop Forced to Remove Tribute to Dad Over Black Lives Matter Harassment

The teenaged daughter of one of the murdered Texas police officers killed last weekend was forced to remove her tearful tribute.

Published

The teenaged daughter of one of the murdered Texas police officers killed last weekend was forced to remove her tearful tribute to har fallen dad because of threats and harassment from Black Lives Matter terrorists.

Savannah Chavez, the daughter of slain officer Ismael Chavez who was killed in McAllen, Texas on Saturday, uploaded her tribute to her father only hours after he was killed in the line of duty, according to the Daily Mail.

“Words cannot describe the pain I’m in, but I’m glad my dad is at peace. You were an amazing man and anyone who ever came across you knew that,” Savannah wrote. “I’m going to miss you so much. You died doing what you loved most, you died a hero. I love you daddy, see you soon. #bluelivesmatter.”

But only seconds passed before Black Lives Matter terrorists began threatening her life for posting the tribute message.

BLM monsters began calling the girl a racist and attacked her in every way possible.

Savannah’s cousin, Mia, later jumped in to defend the fallen officer.

Mia told the attackers to go to hell, and added, “his man was the most loving and caring person anyone could meet. It’s pathetic how people can be so unsympathetic to a girl that is trying to commemorate her father.”

Eventually, Savannah just deleted the tweet in the face of the threats and vile attacks.

This is the hate that fills the cold, dark hole where liberals are supposed to have hearts.

San Francisco Police End Release of Mug Shots Because the Photos Are ‘Racist’

The San Francisco PD is striking a blow against “racism” by ending the release of mug shots because they are racist.

Published

on

The San Francisco Police Department is striking a blow against “racism” by ending the public release of mug shots because… the photos are apparently racist.

The SFPD claims they are helping end the “perpetuation of racial stereotypes” by ending the release of the photos.

From now on, San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said, the department will not release the photos to the media and will ban officers from posting the photos online.

Per KCRA.:

Booking photos are taken when someone is arrested. They are often made public whether or not the person is prosecuted for the alleged crime, which undermines the presumption of innocence and helps perpetuate stereotypes.

Jack Glaser, a public policy professor at the University of California Berkeley who researches racial stereotyping and whose work Scott consulted, said data shows Black people who are arrested are more likely to have their cases dismissed by prosecutors.

Yet, the mugshots were already made public.

“This is just one small step, but we hope this will be something that others might consider doing as well,” Scott said about ending the practice.

Indeed, there are a number of websites that specialize in compiling mugshot photos and court records for people to use in private investigations, hiring, and other things.

Scott added that there will be exceptions. For instance, if any particular arrestee is determined to be a danger to the public, his booking photo may be released. Or if the department is trying to encourage witnesses to come forward.

San Francisco joins New York and Los Angeles in limiting the release of the photos.
